The Police Command in Niger State has arrested five persons for alleged criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide in Kontagora Local Government Area of the state.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Abubakar, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, in Minna.
Abubakar said that on September 13, 2019, at around 2: 00 a.m., five suspects and members of ‘Yan Kwamiti’ and Hisba Shariah Commission of Kontagora were arrested by policemen attached to ‘B‘Division Kontagora for the murder of one Ibrahim A. Ibrahim

Kenya to host inaugural Africa Food Show in 2020

Kenya will in 2020 host the inaugural Africa Food Show that will bring together policymakers, industry executives, farmers and consumers to learn about emerging trends in trade on agricultural commodities, organizers said on Tuesday.

David Wang, the Chairman of MIE Groups, the event organizer, said this in Nairobi.

The premier event, which will take place in Nairobi from June 24 to 26 in 2020, will help showcase food products, processing and packaging technologies to investors as well as consumers.

“Africa Food Show will provide a platform for the next generation of entrepreneurs to gain a better understanding of the market for agricultural commodities in the continent,’’ Wang said.

Cleft certification: Smile Train, West African surgeons’

Smile Train, the world’s leading cleft organization and the West African College of Surgeons (WACS) has entered into a partnership with the launch of the Smile Train-WACS Cleft Surgical Certification.

The partnership entered into on Tuesday would grant six surgeons per year over the next five years the opportunity to specialize in cleft care across West Africa.

The one- year Post-Graduate Programme is expected to commence in February 2020 as WACS would identify accredited centers to serve as training sites in Nigeria, Ghana, and French West Africa.

How Plateau village head was assassinated —Family member

Mr Inusa Yaktol, a member of the family of late Mohammed Bayero, the village head of Kadunu, in Plateau State, who was killed by gunmen, has revealed how the traditional ruler was murdered.

Bayero, who was the village head of Kadunu in Mangu Local Government of Plateau State, was assassinated on Sunday at his residence.
Yaktol told the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday that the gunmen visited the late traditional ruler around 8:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Nigerian who died in UK detention center was denied medical attention —Brother

A Nigerian man, Oscar Okwurime, 34, who died in his cell at the Harmondsworth removal centre, UK had told the authorities at the centre that he was feeling unwell but he was not provided with medical attention, says the latest report.

According to The Independent UK, Okwurime told his siblings that he was feeling unwell during his first week in the removal centre.
