My friend back then who could play football and nursed the dream of becoming a star player has now given up on his dream... These guys are just lucky... They all smell of money, travelling internationally and living abroad. Some local boys on the street can play far better than these guys...what am I even saying... Some boys on nairaland can play far better than these boys. Life is just about luck... or should I say grace... It is well. I'm happy for them. It's their time to shine. hinere:.....I don't buy ur assertion sir with due respect.... local talents are good but sometimes won't take u far in football....if its all about local statz den so many teams paraded home made starz at the last world cup en didn't qualify even out of the group....football isn't just about skills...if it's about skills alone den we should go to oshodi or somewhere in Lagos to pack players en take dem them to world cup en I bet u dey won't win a match.....this thing we keep saying isn't even working for us at the under17/23 where we tend to shine anymore. ...Netherland dumped our guys some weeks ago not cos individually our player is inferior to the Dutch's but they understand how football works than us....same thing happened to Senegal against Spain.... the super eagles player might not be so special but the possess a better football technical know how than a player in grassroot.... that's why most foreign coaches prefer foreign players...they knw wat to do in diverse situations on the fiend and dey know how to go about situation ...why cos they ve been exposed to dem against good players all around the world....wat we need is nt just the talent but a good football academy to nurture talents...... 1 Like |
