DOLLARTEX: Your observation is very significant. That volume spike in Nokia could mean there is renewed interest. Their 10 day average is 34m, to do 97.7m in one day is a cause to pay attention. From the chart attached it rose from about $3.70 to $4.37 resulting in a gain of 12.63% in the last 5 trading days. Sometimes it oscillates within this band and could be a source of quick profit referred to as jijo (jump in and jump out) in the Nigerian stock pick tread on nairaland. What happens from today will determine what to expect. We watch. 3 Likes

ukay2: Your scepticism is in order. No one wants to be a victim of loss. However, if I may throw more light, the companies behind these apps are like agents commissioned by US licensed brokers to serve as reliable source of broadening market participation to parts of the world where the typical American broker has no presence and can't do due diligence on potential customers. So even if Trove goes under, your stocks remain in your name in the books of the registrars of the companies you have and that of the stock broking house Trove works with. It's similar to what happens in the Nigerian Stock Exchange. If a stock broker goes out of business, your stocks remain in tact with the CSCS depository. All you need do is change broker and get CSCS to do your transfer to a new broker. 27 Likes 2 Shares |

OakPearl: Thank you Sir for your response. Please I still need more clarification Sir. So what is the USA version of our own CSCS? Did trove or their USA stock broker open an equivalent CSCS account for Trove App investors? Do you have an equivalent CSCS account statement like we have in Nigeria from the shares you have bought? Thank you. 4 Likes |

BI Prime GOLDMAN SACHS: These 15 stocks offer cash returns at more than double the market average — and they're available at a discount David Kostin, the chief US equity strategist at Goldman Sachs, says he's brought together a group of S&P 500 stocks that return double the average company in the broader index. Kostin adds that the stocks have underperformed the index for the last few years despite their superior returns. The performance of those stocks has steadily gotten worse as investors got more optimistic about economic growth. It's a rare combination, but Goldman Sachs says you can get better-than-average returns from a few stocks while also buying them at better-than-average prices. David Kostin, chief US equity strategist at Goldman Sachs, says he's identified a group of stocks that more than double the cash return of the median S&P 500 stock, which is currently 4.4%. Most of them pay hefty dividends, and some augment that by repurchasing large amounts of their stock every year. And yet Kostin says those stocks have been collectively underperforming the S&P 500, as shown in the chart below. It shows the high-return stocks falling farther and farther behind the benchmark index over the last three years, with a few attempted rallies that didn't last long. Put simply, these stocks that offer strong cash distributions can be found at a bargain. Total cash return performance David Kostin of Goldman Sachs says stocks that offer outsize cash returns have underperformed the S&P 500 for years. Goldman Sachs Global Investment Research And most recently, they've gotten even cheaper relative to the market as investors got more optimistic about the economy and resumed their preference for growth over higher-yielding stocks. Listed below are Kostin's top 15 stocks. Take a look at this chart: Between 1996 and 2000, the S&P 500 experienced 5 major pullbacks. If you got scared and took some money off the table, you would have missed a tremendous money-making opportunity. That's the exact situation we are in right now. It's a rocky road to the top of a Melt Up. But if you know the new way to profit from what's happening right now – you might never have to worry about money again. God give us the knowledge to perfect these things and the patience to wait if we have to. 3 Likes

DOLLARTEX:It is a matter of time, Nokia will will reach the bar. Trump Donald has invited Nokia and Ericson to provide the core 5G network in the US. Many Americancentric European countries are equally following the suit. The news is already imparting marginally on Nokia price chart. I greet you all. Good work @OakPearl. You've done a great job by kickstarting this thread. My problem with trove is high commission charge. I don't know if anyone has noticed it yet? I've been demo trading with them since last year. Am currently researching if I can get a well recognized US based broker with low charge. |

millennium2012: I like the fact you are careful about commission charges. If you are a US resident, fine. But as a non resident, if you are lucky to find a US broker, they will most likely require too much deposit to open a trading account plus a US bank account. For me, I ran out of patience with the requirements being a Nigerian resident so I try to make as much profit from any stock as possible to render the commission insignificant. 11 Likes |

Re: Us Stocks Pick Alert by YerYer: 4:48pm On Feb 10, 2020 |
Amotekun2020: I think one of the reasons it popped had to do with a false report that the U.S might buy a huge stake in Nokia and Ericksson to compete with Huawei. I still like Nokia, I have a very small position in it and I think patient investors will be rewarded soon. |

OakPearl: This stock was on fire last year. It is very volatile though. But like Tesla, I believe it is one of those disruptor stocks that come about once in a while. I bought and held 100 shares for one day. Made $600 and quickly sold. Stil have just 5 shares. I plan to buy the dips and ride the wave for now. The broker I use only charge no fees to trade stocks. 7 Likes

Re: Us Stocks Pick Alert by YerYer: 8:31pm On Feb 10, 2020 |
Asuito7: I use TD Ameritrade and Robinhood. As of late last year almost all the U.S based brokerages switched to zero commission trades. It was fierce competition that made all of them switch to free trades and I believe similar things will happen to the nigerian based brokerages. Trove, Chaka and co are good too. As more people show interest, more brokerages will come on board. You can still make good gains that negate the 1% fee. 7 Likes 3 Shares |

Does Trove, chaka or bamboo allow fractional share purchase? I think AMZN is a good buy here at $2131. It has lagged the S&P and NASDAQ. Just as Apple and Microsoft has made record gains, I think AMZN will be playing catch up from here. 1 Like
