NANS OGUN JCC CELEBRATES DEMOCRACY DAY WITH NIGERIAN STUDENTS: SAYS MEASURES ARE IN PLACE FOR RE-OPENING OF SCHOOLS.

The National Association of Nigeria Students(NANS) felicitates with all students across the state as we celebrate today (June12) as our DEMOCRACY DAY. This day, as proposed is meant to mark the day the military handed over power to the civilian government.

So, since inception, we have been hoping even as students in the country that we shall someday enjoy proportional dividends. We hope this day as well become a day to be remembered for proper implementation of both social amenities and educational facilities across the state.

The students' body as well wish you all a successful stay even as we go through this trying time as students of various institutions.

Be reminded that this pandemic has kept us back in our various places as far as the third month of the year and if we check closely, we are half way to the end of the year. On this note, it is quite pertinent for you all to understand that being at home at this very time is not for fun but for you all to see reasons why the education sector deserves the best of ideas, sponsorship, leadership, partnership and innovation which needs activation for the betterment of all.

You will all agree with us that, if the current situation of education was healthy, the pandemic would be an opportunity for us to bring to the best use, the technological aspect of learning.

The entire members of NANS OGUN JCC understand how tiring and saddening it could be, staying back at home for couple of months. Nevertheless, We implore you all to remain calm and creative as ever, putting in action all necessary tool that may in turn be useful for you all at the aftermath of this pandemic.

We want to assure you that measures are being currently considered on how best we all can get better when we return to school. We as well hope that everything shall be structured in place as soon as possible following duly the gradual ease of the various phases of lockdown in the country.

However, we charge you all into dutifulness as we move towards the better days . Be rest assured that schools will resume when the environment is considered conducive for us all.

We as well use this medium to beseech our leaders to consider this day a justifiable one as we await pronouncement of favourable updates as today represents liberty in the country.

Remember, education is not a privilege but our individual right.

In the meantime, let us remain positive, safe and focused.

Let us not ignore the various measures we have been charged to always engage in. Our social distancing, regular washing of hands, use of face mask and the likes.

Stay safe and remain covered!

Signed:

Comrade Bamgbose Tomiwa Peter
(NANS Chairman, Ogun State J.C.C.)
