Man whose wife gives birth to new baby rapes four-year-old daughter

A man, Ikechukwu Ekenta has reportedly raped his four-year-old daughter in 33 area of Onitsha, Anambra State.

Ekenta whose age was obtained as 43 years hails from Imo State.

It was gathered that Ekenta allegedly raped the daughter while his wife was delivered of a new baby at a hospital in the area.

A statement from office of the Anambra State Commissioner for Women's and Children's affairs, Ndidi Mezue confirmed the incident to our correspondent.

It stated that the ministry arrested Ekenta in collaboration with other security agencies on Wednesday at their residence in 33 area in Onitsha

The statement read,"The Honourable Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue, on receiving report of the rape incident through a concerned citizen, immediately dispatched a team of social workers and another security agency to effect the arrest of the man who works as a conductor in the commercial city of Onitsha.

"The rape reported occurred few weeks ago, when the mother of the girl returned from hospital were she was delivered of a baby girl.

"On getting home she discovered that her first daughter was feeling pains in her private parts, she demanded to know what happened, the girl of four disclosed to her disbelief, that the father had fingered her and also had canal knowledge of her.

"A medical examination on the child confirmed that there was penetration and serious injury on the girl's private parts.

It added,"While Investigation into what transpired between the man and his biological daughter is still on going, the woman and her three daughters have been evacuated and are being cared for by the Anambra State ministry of women and Children Affairs
