Hi there,

Quick question,
What is the next most difficult thing after securing getting traffic on your website or app?

Savvy webmasters and web designers will tell you it is a have low bounce rate.

Yes, a high bounce rate is to web designers like us and content managers what salt is to snails and slug. It's a terrible thing.

Though, if you do have a single-page website, then a high bounce rate is perfectly normal.

What is a bounce rate?
According to Google, a Bounce rate is single-page sessions divided by all sessions, or the percentage of all sessions on your site in which users viewed only a single page and triggered only a single request to the Analytics server.

Do you understand Google's definition? Let me try and explain better.

If a friend visits a website like https://rockfortdigital.com.ng and does not click on any other link on the website before closing the website. That is a bounce.

It simply means the website is not engaging enough and we web designers dread that. It horrible if people go back search results are visiting your website

A high bounce rate is all sessions on your website divided by all bounce session

There is an exception, if you only one webpage like sales letters or the likes, a high bounce rate is perfectly okay. There is no other page for your website visitor to visit.

How to fight a high bounce rate?

To combat a high bounce rate, you need to know where the bounce rate is coming from.

All websites should have Google Analytics installed, it is very important.

Google Analytics provides the number of people visiting your website and how they are interacting with your website.

The bounce rate comes from four different places.
The Audience Overview report provides the overall bounce rate for your site.
The Channels report provides the bounce rate for each channel grouping.
The All Traffic report provides the bounce rate for each source/medium pair.
The All Pages report provides the bounce rate for individual pages
