The current chaos whether justified or not raises certain pertinent questions.
Is it enough to demand a socio-economic revolution from the leaders, currently at the helm of affairs? For the current political/socio-economic decay that has certainly turned Nigerians into "Monsters", are we dealing with the case of inability on the part of leaders to devise and implement practical solutions, or it's the unwillingness to do so, or a combination of the 2. It's particularly important that all Nigerians agitating for a change ask themselves which of these cases apply and to what degree. Perhaps the potential leaders and politically astute amongst us can tell us which of these is the case.
On one hand, if these leaders are just unable, or the problems even though they are known are just beyond them, as such they would only do something to reduce the symptomatic expression of a more fundamental problem, and thus alleviate the suffering due to the problems temporarily or just set in place a series of actions that distill these the most pressing problems into other problems, which may deceptively cause us all to pull back on our agitation with the satisfaction that they finally heed to our call. If this is the case, then the political platform which gives them their voice should be abandoned, and forced to spiral into Oblivion. In this case, a new political party spearheaded by some well-renowned and accomplished Nigerian professionals-cum-leaders/aspiring leaders may have to come into the picture. Perhaps it's time for some of these renowned professionals to come together under one umbrella with the singular purpose of wrestling it away from these inept leaders. I am saying this because if the Nigerian youths have really snapped out of their slumber, there must be a standby group of people ready to serve. This is not to argue that the leaders constituting a new political party may not turn out to be corrupt, but since most of us cannot see the future, the best we can do his place the most competent in charge. This is quite important because, if things are to change for the better, we will have to get as many competent people into all arms of the government as possible. You do not want competent executives and mostly incompetent executives, as that would amount to stagnation of implementation of policies. If a competent executive suggests sound policies in the interest of the Nigerian people, they may never come to fruition, it the house of assembly opposes it, or if it does, it may never be effective as the competent executive government would end up making unhealthy concessions. This applies the opposite way too. In this regard, I do believe renowned educators, political scientists, Engineers, Doctors, Lawyers home and Abroad should consider the formation of a political party. This struggle towards a better Nigeria would be a long and hard one. An initiative that would encourage the coming together of the best Nigerian brains is needed.
Some could argue that these current leaders know how to solve our problems, but they are just refusing to. Even if this is the case, how long do we have to wait for our unwilling leaders to change? 20 years since the return to civil rule and still counting. Perhaps the first part still applies.
Either way, if these initiative does materialize, I hope the youths will not go back to sleep, continue in their ignorance, and still vote for these greedy leaders. Irrespective of whether you were formally educated or not, I would think we, our fathers, mothers, aunties, uncles, brothers are mostly on the same page on the basic problems we think should be solved. And perhaps it's the responsibility of the educated amongst us to inform the uneducated/ignorant and bring them to understand the plight we and the future generations face. Perhaps it's time we all understand that we can no longer run away from politics. It will always find its way into our lives one way or another. Perhaps we can all get involved politically.

Make Nigeria Great.
