The Speaker of the Imo state House of Assembly, Chiji Collins has been impeached.

POLITICS NIGERIA learned that Mr. Paul Emeziem from Onuimo has been appointed as the new speaker of the House of Assembly.

Collins was removed on Friday during a plenary session in the assembly complex in Owerri.

Sources reveal that Collins was relieved of his position on allegations of gross misconduct and financial impropriety. 19 out of 27 house members pushed for Collins removal.

I knew this Will happen. The impeached speaker is working for Ararume, while the new one is a Hope man. This is to try and counter any moves of Ararume going to the senate, as the senate rerun is coming up this December. Power play.
