Please help... My Back Wheels Makes a “ Hissing “ sound when the engine is on. I drive a 2003 Toyota Camry. Just recently I experienced a Strange “ Hissing “ sound from my back tires when ever my engine is on. Pls guys what could be the problem. I’ve driven it like that for a week now. The sound is terrible. My mechanic said it’s fuel pump that is making the sound. I doubt. I have a friend who drives similar. I haven’t heard any sound. |

Did you recently work on your fuel pump? That noise is from your pump or go to any alignment shop, use their pit to trace where the noise is coming from since u are not convinced its the pump. |

Your fuel pump is inside the car under the rear seat. Are you sure the sound is coming from outside? If yes, I'm suspecting your exhaust pipe. Either it is leaking or the hanger was improvised with binding wire causing the hissing sound. |

Happiestman1:If it happens when you move, could be your breakpads, if it happens on standstill then it's definitely something else. If you're sure it's from the wheels then I'll advice you to check the back hub bearing. Thank God it's the back wheel though, it's easier to narrow down. If na front, kazeems go tire your car apart.  |
