An Oodua Republic agitator, Chief Sunday Adeyemo popularly called Sunday Igboho on Friday visited Igangan, Ibarapa North Local Government area of Oyo State as promised. Though he did not fight the Fulani residents of the state as speculated on social media, but he insisted that all the Fulani residents of the state, and the entire Yoruba land must leave the state, if kidnapping continues. Igboho had last week visited Fulani settlement in Igangan, Ibarapa North Local Government Area where he gave them a seven-day ultimatum to leave the area. He accused the Fulani community in the area of masterminding abductions, killings, and other criminal activities in the area. Adeyemo who spoke in Yoruba dialect said fear of many Yoruba people are to ensure other tribe didn’t take over their land from them. He said; “Fulanis cannot take over our land from us. We own our land and we won’t allow anybody to take it from us. Some people are intimidating us but we won’t succumb to their threat. For the Fulani living here, we are not fighting them, if they can live with us peacefully. Our fear is for them taking over our land, kidnapping and killing our people. “We will evict them from our land if they insisted on kidnapping our people. I am assuring Yoruba people, especially the residents of Oyo state that there is no course for alarm. An individual volunteered to tackle Foolanis madness with madness and the same Governor who is not proactive is against him. Afenifere is against him. I watch a report on Aljazeera about the trouble going on in Central Africa Republic , these same set of people are the ones causing problem. Its really simple Fulani herdsmen are business men they should conduct their business peacefully by buying a ranch for their cows and there will be peace everywhere.... No one is chasing them away if they conduct themselves peaceful and lawfully, if they continue with their rain of terror is Oyo state the warning the guy gave might just be a subtle way to tell them the impending all out war against them... I can only just hope for the sake of Nigeria that the government acts fast and not let this degenerate into ethnic cleansing as it is, this might just be heading that way.... |

Charmingrascal: Gani adams was made the Are Ona Kankanfo by the Alafin of oyo and as such he, Gani can not start anything without the go-ahead from his boss, the Alafin. Unfortunately, the Alafin himself is complicit in the heightened level of insecurity in yoruband (in conjunction with some monarchs and top politicians from the SW). as most of those cows destroying farmland are owned by them and the herdsmen are in their employment. |
