Many problems are not spiritual but they are as a result of many people's characters...

OGUN ENIYAN MAA KO is a song by the renowned Evangelist Ojo Ade and the translation in English shows that most problems that people face are not as a result of spiritual problems but problems that happen as a result of their characters.
The song rightly teaches that one way to make those problems go away is to think, meditate and change your behavior. That’s what the lyrics of chorus of the song are all about.

The main parts of the song begins as he made an illustration of a woman (imaginary) who hates Ojo Ade’s song because she believes his songs are abusive when in fact, they are just plain truth and blunt. (People who listens to Ojo Ade’s songs know that his songs are blunt and the truth.) Few people like listening to the truth.

He continues by saying that even as she hates the songs, her life has not changed for the better since she refuses to listen and change. (Her character is at work here).
The songs continues and explains how most fake prophets deceive people by telling them they have spiritual problems when it is actually their characters and behaviors that are the root of their problems.

Ojo Ade gave examples of how one’s characters can cause problems:

1. Stinginess
2. Keeping malice
3. Having short tempers
4. Cheating
5. Betrayals
These listed are all examples of negative behaviors that can cause problems in one’s life.

The song continues with men who are stubborn and ladies who refuse to listen to their parents because they believe they are wiser, forgetting that kids who refuse to listen to their parents’ advice will suffer for it.

He continues with another story of an imaginary lady whose mates went to school like and got certificates and awards while she got herself impregnated. Instead of certificates, she got a baby and instead of becoming wiser, she continues to prostitute herself, getting picked by every dick and harry.

He also mentions the story of an imaginary man who is not lucky in buying houses or a car but he is lucky with women. He loves bringing different ladies to his home. And when problems come, he believes they are spiritual.

The song is rendered in the Ijesha dialect.
