It is now a year and some days over. But still in the month when the youths and several young and other citizens of Nigeria took to the streets of major cities of the country to protest and requested for the disbanding of the notorious squad arm of the Nigerian police force known as SARS, Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad.
Before the protest, several Nigerians from all works of life had different turns of ugly experiences with the squad. From extortion, extra judicial killings, torture, unlawful arrest, and many other sorrowful experiences. Even as the victims wailed over all these, nobody in government listened.
Which however pointed to the fact that brutalities emanating from the police force had been with the people for a long time without anyone caring.
Indications also showed that the youths were the ones that were mostly targeted,and accounts from cross sections of people also proved that many young men and women had had their lives prematurely cut short by the SARS operatives unnecessarily.
The purpose of which the squad was formed was a good one. During the tenure of Nigeria former president Olusegun Obasanjo there was high rates of criminal activities across the country's highways,and the regular police unit were very much engaged with political and domestic violence within various areas of the country.
Therefore a tactical unit called Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad was then formed to checkmate the rampant occupancies of armed robbery and other hard crimes across the country.
However,the unit grew out of control and became a dreadful and notorious squad. They became gods with the devil's signatory to kill, Kidnap,robb, maim, extort and dehumanize innocent citizens they were called to duty to protect.
And the uncared attitudes of the authorities to step in and save innocent people from these unlawful activities by the notorious SARS personnel showed that the innocent and law abiding citizens of the country were on their own.
At the same time made the electorates to understand that the people they elected to rule over them and takes care of them were just there to harvest the fruits of democracy into their own private storehouses.
The impervious government's standpoint also explained that the much overrated "change" preached before election was just mere vapor and nothing tangible.
The EndSARS protest exposed the strong promise made that corruption will be wiped out from the land as a mere bait to lure electorates. Because during the protest, several secret storages were uncovered where COVID-19 palliatives meant for the masses were stored as personal palliatives by some elites and politicians in the country.
The EndSARS protest really opened a can of worms,but is the authorities prepared to exterminate the worms? A year has gone past since the great protest that saw many young men and women losing their lives for seeking for a better governance.

This is Nigeria where Gen. Bubu is in charge! Nothing works. Dear OP it wasn't only corruption he promised to exterminate, insecurity, inflation( reduced the difference between dollar to naira value) and many other empty promises were made too.

Yes he promised us change. And most assumed they understood him(his supporters). They failed to asked what kind of change?

1. Most bias president Nigeria ever had.
2. Nigeria is most insecure under him. Farmers can't go to farm anymore for fear of been rape, kidnap, and killed.
3. Dollar is almost #600 now
4. Boarders are closed in the south (starvation is at all time high)

Of all the atrocious act committed by Fulani all over Nigeria, have you ever heard of anyone of them been prosecuted?
