I got a mail from info@chanmedical-jp.com expressing their interest to buy a mining product (Goshenite) in Nigeria from (Mile Mining Nigeria Limited) requesting me to act as purchase representative and be given a percentage of purchase and backed up by MoU since they are foreigners and have never been to Nigeria.

I visited the website contacted Mile as requested and confirmed the availability of goshenite. All the details were forwarded to the said company. The company Chan Medical Equipment Limited promise to process visa for two approved staff and come to the country to purchase the raw materials.

I was later contacted that the Nigeria embassy in Japan requested for International Approved Confirmation Order Certificate (IACOC) and International Exportation Control Code Number (IECCN) before the visa can be granted and due to urgency, I should help contact the mining company to process the document. The mining company said IACOC is issued by Nigeria Custom at a cost of N120,000.00 and IECCN is issued by Ministry of Mine and Steel at a cost N270,000.00 with a year validity. The company requested me to procure the document and will be paid back once the representative arrived the country. The payment was made and was given receipt and the certificate.

I was told a parcel will be delivered for deposit with the company so as for the company to know their level of seriousness and commitment and help pay the custom clearance fees since they couldn't pay it from their end that has to be in local currency of the
recipient. I didn't suspect a foul play until the issue of custom who claimed to seize the parcel came in and that he has to be settled before releasing it.

Their address is very strange to me.
They write "Kanto" instead of prefecture name. This is very strange.

So, I checked their address on internet.
I confirmed about Yokosuka (city) Honcho.
But zip code is also very strange. Because Japan zip code is 7 digit number and I also confirmed about from 601 zip code is not Yokosuka city zip code.

I checked their website too.
I checked their worker's name. Some peoples name is very very strange to me.
Because some their name is like Japanese name, but writing 2 surnames in 1 person.
I'm very sorry. I don't know what happened with you and this company. Because of my English skill. I can't understand what really happened.
But I think they are not Japanese. I'm not sure. But if they are Japanese scammer, I think they will not make that kind of mistake about address, zip code etc.

This one na old format. Sad you fell for this old simple scheme. The best is to track the account into which you made payment and collect your money. It's possible but it may take quite a while.
Best is to independently run your enquiries via the Embassy of the foreign company.
Chasr the account you paid money into. That's your best bet.
But this format is more than 30years on the roll.
