David Alechenu Bonaventure Mark, GCON (born April 1948) is a retired Nigerian Army Brigadier General and politician. He was President of the Senate of Nigeria from 2007 to 2015 and was the Senator for Benue South Senatorial District Benue State.

During his days as the senate president he was very popular and outspoken and was even rumored to take over from President Goodluck Jonathan as the next president of Nigeria but all of a sudden, nothing is heard of me. Where’s Senator David Mark?

Ijaw produces over 90 percent of all Nigeria's crude oil but were unjustly balkanized into Ondo, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers and Akwa-Ibom States when all Ijaw areas are fully together and are not scattered by God.
The Lovers of Ijaw Nation Organization is asking the Nigerian system to restore us to none balkanized by creating Toru-Ebe State (for Ijaws of Ondo, Edo, Delta), Oil Rivers State (for Ijaws of Rivers and Akwa-Ibom States and increase Bayelsa LGAs to the proper number as it is in other States.
These states are economically viable.

Failure to do this, we are going to take full militant actions in every way so as to leave Nigeria and go for Ijaw Republic.

Most Nigerian politicians are only revelant when they hold a position, outside that, they disappear into obscurity. That is why they will do everything to hold on to a position, they don't resign like their foreign counterparts when faced with allegations until they are either forced out or die in office

Yes, he’s probably abroad enjoying his retirement but the guy was a force to reckon with. He is someone I expected to still be in active politics or a king maker or even decision makers na by now
