There was panic at Computer Village, Ikeja, Lagos State, on Tuesday, when masked gunmen reportedly abducted a yet-to-be-identified motorist.

According to eyewitnesses who narrated the incident on Twitter, the man was forced out of a black Toyota Corolla, which he was driving on Medical Road in the area.

A user, @girllikehelen, who shared photos of the vehicle, said the incident happened in front of the Slot retail shop around 8am.

She wrote, “The owner of this car was allegedly kidnapped on Medical Road in Ikeja this morning. According to my source, the gunmen accosted the owner of the car and asked him to come down from the vehicle; he refused. They pulled out their guns, he refused to alight from the car.

“Then they pulled out a cutlass. He got out of the car and they whisked him away in their vehicle. The gunmen were six in number and they had masks on.”

This was corroborated by @RealMabel99 who said the gunmen used a cutlass on the victim’s leg.

She said, “They later took him, after using a cutlass to cut his leg. I was there. People couldn’t do anything because the men were armed and wore masks. This Lagos is no longer safe. I’m still in shock till now.”

One @NwaoguMarvis, who claimed he usually took the route to work, said he saw a crowd at the scene.

He wrote, “Nowhere is safe in Nigeria anymore. For this to happen at Medical Road at 8am?”

Another eyewitness, @AmaOmenma, stated that the crowd gathered around the man’s car, which was left behind after he was taken away by the gunmen.

“Everyone was on the run as they were ready to shoot at anyone in sight. Some threw stones at them though but eventually succeeded in bundling him away,” he added.

The spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident.

He said, “I am aware of the situation. It was as narrated on social media. We have commenced investigation; we have leads. But we are not saying much about it so we don’t jeopardise investigation.”

With the attack on Ifeanyi Uba and Apostle Suleiman, it's starting to look like the days of Abacha and Sgt Rogers are back again. This was how Bola Ige, Harry Marshal and Dokubo them were killed under Obasanjo and nothing happened. Whenever these very vile and brutal ex military officers masquerading as vintage civilians are in power, it's bloodletting, massacres and brutality all over the place.

I am 100% sure it is one of those IPOB terrorists. They have started taking heed to that lunatic Simon Ekpa statement of deploying them to Lagos.

You see the name of the eye witnesses self?

Let them keep deceiving us that Lagos doesn't need amotekun and Lagos is safe, playing politics with human lives. God will judge those supporting these liars.

What we face in Lagos daily is bizarre. Armed robbers operating in traffic and nobody challenges them. God saved my life one evening at pen cinema area of agege when coming from omole side around 9:30pm. He wanted pulling his gun from his pocket and I zoomed off at the slightest opportunity. There was a police station close by, but they did nothing. I learnt they've been operating there for long. My brother was coming from apapa one morning and these guys pointed a gun at him. Motorists were just trying to find an escape route on sighing them. My brother refused to open the door of his vehicle as instructed. Suddenly traffic became clear and he zoomed off. Don't go to lekki axis at night if you like yourself. Don't pass 3rd mainland bridge around 11pm and if you must risk it, speed like commando and don't stop, even if you hear any sound in your tyre. If you must enter a BRT, don't enter a nearly empty one, especially at night. Some of their drivers are complicit. I remember the poor pretty girl murdered inside the BRT bus by the driver and her body was dumped by the roadside. Thanks to the whatsapp conversation between her and a family member, when she began to see strange moves inside the BRT bus. The driver wouldn't have been nabbed. Many had gone in same manner unnoticed.

Lagos needs help and help is comimg.

The security of Lagos State should be doubled, being the most populated state in Nigeria.
The insecurity occuring in other regions can occur in Lagos State because all the tribes troup in to Lagos State every second.

Just one news of masked gun men we are seeing this people blaming Tinubu, one thing is certain the masked men will be unmasked soon, but Unknown gun men are still ravaging their region. If only these guys concentrated this energy in putting out the fire in their homes the East will be economically viable.
I won't be surprised if Obi condemn this as well .
Talk about misplaced priorities.
