Everyone seems unpleased about the new design of Naira notes (N200, N500 and N1000).
But no one seems to understand the decision for the tweaking of its appearance.The action might seem expedient but I strongly believe CBN has done well because this might checkmate a lot of loopholes in the system regarding politicians hoarding Naira . So are there financial experts or Economists out there who can delineate why such measures where taken. Nigerians only see the superficial in such action. So let’s hear from the smart ones.

To redesign the notes and to make laws that will prevent money laundering and increase the value of Naira, which one is effective?

Those who laundered old notes will still launder the new notes and Naira will continue to fall in value because the system has not changed. Stop celebrating mediocrity.

The new design is purely political and does no good to the economy.

They should not have called it redesigning. It's recolouring that they did. The purpose will be achieved though! They use exactly the same template and changed colouring. While it will affect politicians it will not affect fake note printers. In fact, printing of counterfeit became easier!
