Albarka Sukuya, a pastor, was detained by Plateau State police agents for allegedly staging his kidnapping on a number of occasions in order to demand money from his church members.

The suspect also set a Mercedes Benz and a Toyota car on fire last week at the ECWA Bishara 3 Jenta Apata premises, claiming one of his senior pastors hates him.

The Jenta Apata resident who is the suspect is accused of criminal conspiracy, self-kidnapping, and vandalism. According to allegations, he and other gang members planned to pose as kidnappers so that sympathetic gang members would pay a ransom.
