The drums reverberated and trumpets blared as NYSC Corps members and officials on Tuesday 9th May 2023 thrilled Awka residents as they walk for Unity in commemoration of the Schemes Golden Jubilee Anniversary .

The 5km walk which was led by the State Coordinator Mrs Blessing Ekene Iruma kicked off from NYSC Secretariat Amawbia by 7.30 am and ended at Regina Caeli Junction Awka.
Addressing the Corps members at the end of the exercise, the State Coordinator described the Scheme Golden Jubilee as coming of age and used the opportunity to recount some of the success of the scheme over the years including in National Unity & Integration, Electioneering, Census, Examination transparency and infrastructural development etc.
The Unity Walk was part of the programme lined up to celebrate NYSC @50.
