The term applies to the individuals who often go to church mainly for attendance sake but ignore the standards set aside by Christ for Christians.

The church goers are also referred to as "The Hypocrites" just like the biblical Sanhedrins and pharisees, who professed to know God but rejected the gospel and its power of redemption.

Having a closer look at these individuals, they tend to do more in church like, joining the choir stand, participating in the sanitary department as sanctuary cleaners, availing themselves in the workers team and engaging in the activities of the church without any show of despair.

At most times, these individuals are given the dispensation of duty to preach, and even when they do very well, the audience would be thrilled but receive the message from a shallow ground, as the preacher only gives out information that he or she doesn't portray.

The church goers sparingly have a relationship with God, due to the fact that they only pray when in church meetings compared to their home-made prayers which is very rare.

even when they do, their prayers are always very loud as a show off that they know God better.

Analyzing their daily life in the domestic setting, they are apparently rude to their subjects at home and in the office, e.g husband, wife, children and even those serving under them.

Not minding the ethics of Christianity, they always put themselves first before others, keeping in touch with the word(bible) and breaking no sweat about it.

Lastly but not the least, the church goers are always lacking in charity, hoping to receive from others but hesitate to give out freely to those around them who are in need.

Churchgoers are people who only attend religious sessions due to the influence of those around them {Exodus 23:1-2} instead of being preached to {Matthew 10:11-13} and taught what Jesus commanded his disciples {Matthew 28:19-20} so that they can also become active preachers and teachers of God's word like those who taught them {2Timothy 3:14} they're only concerned with selfish cravings as to what they will get now for worshiping the God of their choice! Matthew 6:19-21

Real Christians humbly study God's word to gain accurate knowledge {Romans 10:2-3} because they will be sent to join their fellow believers in preaching zealously and industriously teaching in all their neighbourhood {Luke 18:22} that is just too much for the churchgoer all he wants to hear is:
"bow towards East, West, North or South and your request will be granted whether it makes sense or not"
