I’ve watched how LAX airport scrutinize luggages irrespective of their sensitivity or worth.

Take your obnoxious questions away from my mention please. If you really think no one has the right to criticize this government, then you're one step away from being delusional.

Constructive criticism.

“Some of the cargoes we were told have been there since 2011. What is the use of occupying that space? There is no economic advantage for keeping overtime cargoes for that long. We need to engage Customs to see the best way to evacuate them,” he said.

Wetin go make customs hold cargoes since 2011?
The charges it accumulated and settlement needed may be more than the content or maybe the owner won't make profit from the business

Guy no be customs hold over 80% of the containers in the respective terminals, but the inability of either the shipper/importer to come to terms, and most often capital to clear the containers..

Everything to the sore losers is propaganda....

U should be tired of wailing....
Nigerians will be either losers or gainers in the next 4 years. If he is sore or you are happy now it is irrelevant as the same fate as citizens is what we all face.
Let's hope for the best.

Nowhere in the world has physical examination been phased out completely. There are instances when the computer scan and Intel may require a complete physical check. It's to clear all doubts and prevent security and economic sabotage
Yes but you read the article and understand there are huge pile up cargos that’s yet to be cleared due to manual checking

But of course that can only lead to more contraband gaining free entry.

Transfer those in charge of the scanners and replace the scanners and soon enough them go understand say half bread is better than none.

It’s unfortunate when the country has so many saboteurs.

eldoradoxx:
They prefer physical examination and will not hesitate to destroy a scanner installed to scan. The physical examination of cargos makes for easy pilfering.

Perhaps, there is a reason for that. Just relax, study first and ask questions. Dont horriedly jump into conclusions We have read cargos with illegal drugs and weapons having another airway bills

Only PPP can made our ports work and reduce corruption to the bearest minimum.
As Nigeria owns it 100%, Nigerians (Customs chiefs and other civil servants) at the port will not allow it to grow.
Same should be for power if we want to have stable electricity. Same PPP should go for our refineries if we ever want to refine fuel in Nigeria.
Imagine if Nigeria government owns MTN, Glo, Airtel, we would have never had ease of making calls and use of internet even in 2023. Civil servants will not let anything work.

Wrong places where houses were built in Abuja that Wike is presently destroying, civil servants at the ministry of works and housing will never inform Wike they gave those house owners that places they built on.

He however highlighted issues requiring government attention which include a proposed amendment of NSC Act to legalise its role as port economic regulator; actualisation of a proposed one per cent freight stabilisation fee on import and export; implementation of the cargo tracking note and establishment of a national fleet.

In case you are wondering why the brilliant, hardworking and patriotic HE Oyetola was made to be the Pioneer Minister of the new Ministry of Blue Economy, above is just a part of the reason. He is a very clear-headed and focused Leader. He will deliver and exceed expectations. Only Quality People are around President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu
God bless Nigeria for ever! Check my signature for free stuffs!
what you are praising oyetola for was said by
the Executive Secretary of Nigerian Shippers’ Council, Emmanuel Jime. At least read to understand before setting out for propaganda. Some of us read the op like we are preparing for exams so your distortion of facts doesn't work on us.

Corruption runs in the DNA here. Transfer them and bring another set, they will still destroy anything that will ensure accountability and probity. Nigerian Customs have the highest number of common thiefs in Uniform. At least your items won't normally go missing if booked at the police station. Customs, whether booked or unbooked, they must steal it, an average customs officer is naturally a thief

the last two paragraphs aren't oyetola's speech yet Mr. Freestuffs accredited it to him. Read again bro.
