Often time I made a mistake, I ask myself why such blunder. Soon after I remember the Greek philosopher Thales, who assert, that to know oneself, although seems comprehensible but often time, is not always an easy task. To do. It remains so, because we often resist the very task to do so. This is simply because it is a task that must be learn as a skill that required effort and time through which we can get better at it and indeed it is an ongoing process of a life time responsibility. But the attainment of self-knowledge is but a demonstration of impersonality and if you like, humility in a way. And impersonality is a factor in the practical life of man with a circle of development and experience of the most varied and often perplexing character.

As it were, impersonality has different level that ranges from the minor detachment of exercises to that of the extreme spiritual aloofness that often time, can be very striking and yet natural. But in whatever level it tends to plays out, there is always in this exercise, something that is exceedingly arresting and very influential to those who can afford to witness it at any given time in any individual life. The reason is not farfetched, as it were, from the nature of the concept of impersonality of individual in its uniqueness and often time so contrary to the ordinary well-known law of personal expression, that we are so use to in our everyday life. What I think we don’t often realize is that our fleeting impressions and if you like, the accidental associations have no fixed counterpart in a ‘real’ and stable world. The real world of phenomenon, if you like often come to be developed its own logic as to leave us to yearn for a firm metaphysical anchor that we often find difficult if not impossible to grasp in our daily life.

In this perspective, the same is also true that anyone who engages in its culture will quickly and mutedly be distinguished from his fellow individual. Because it is a complete departure from the ordinary and everyday common existence that we often resist. This stern from the fact that, it has its origin from a plane outside of that of everyday observation and thoughts, because it is the very manifestation of which ordinary consciousness almost refuse to sanction. And indeed, there is a reason for this and it is simply because it makes us aware of the divinity that overshadows our human consciousness which invite us to our heart surrender to its beneficent, although, due to our human condition, it tend to becomes difficult, but not impossible.

It must be observed, however that there is no evidence to suggest that apart from our unique human nature , there could come what looks like a prepackage with such mechanism for a meaningful self-appraisal, such as to ask any such question as -what and why certain situation is taken place, be it personal or collective. The task no doubt, rest in human ability that allows us to examine closely the very process we come to think, feel and react to everyday occurrences.

The process and concept of impersonality tends to upset any preconceived ideas and action as it rejects any form of limitation and pride of the intellectual self as to falsify the well-grounded maxim of liberal education. This is however, one of the reasons so many few individuals are disposed and willing to tread seriously upon the culture whose nature has more or less a forbidding aspect. Because often, it tends to oppose so much that which is firmly established and prized in the personal life of every individuals. Nevertheless, it remains a condition and a force of supreme value in the evolution of individual consciousness and it is a Sino Quano, the only method from which everyone that seek to walk on the partway of self-knowledge must tread.
