Did God Lie? by Hohenheim(m): 7:50pm On Nov 14, 2023 |
In Genesis chapter 2 God tells Adam not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil or he'll die 15. The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. But in Genesis chapter 3 verse 4 the serpent tells Eve something different 4. “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. In verse 22 the Bible tells us that God infact did lie to Adam and Eve. 22. And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.” So not only did our loving God have the chance to forgive his creation after being told the truth by another of his creation he decides to punish them and their so called generations for it. He also denied Adam access to the tree of life thereby causing pain and suffering for billions of his so called creation. But don't worry though, he sent himself in the form of his son to come and die for a problem he technically was at fault for. Christians your god is a liar. Lucky us though, He's as real as spiderman. 6 Likes |

I wonder why the Christian god wanted Adam and Eve to be naked while He and His angels were fully clothed. Quite the curious situation with Yahweh there! 5 Likes 1 Share |

Hohenheim:Also who gave Satan his omnipotent, omniscient etc powers? Yahweh! Who created Eden and the tree of knowledge and planted it right in the middle of the garden(not even at the outskirts where it would be out of sight of Adam and Eve) and made it have luscious fruits? Yahweh! Who is omniscient and knows Adam and Eve would eat the forbidden fruit but still went ahead to plant the fruit right in the garden? Yahweh! Do you now understand why this all loving god wanted Adam fvcked from the get-go? 1 Like |

Hohenheim: That is why it is impossible for God to forgive people like you even after seeing that it is the tree of life that would make him live forever if he eats it. O Lord, come avenge thyself and burn these blasphemers forever! And may their living be full of torments and failures and deaths. |

That story is not to be taken literally but since you've chosen to take it that way you may clap for yourself. Adam and Eve: first human couple to walk the earth. Fruit in the middle of the garden: the right to set standard to govern the intelligent beings. Serpent: snake possessed by a powerful but rebellious angel who wants to introduce politics to humans. Eating the forbidden fruit: consenting to the idea that humans can set standards among themselves without God. Couple nak€d: allowing the two to enjoy intimacy so they can know each other perfectly. Driving them out of the garden: God left them to their fate never to have anything to do with them again so they grew old, got sick and died since the one who supposed to sustain them has abandoned them. 1 Like 1 Share |

It was all God's plan all along... He created everything in twos... Birth and ....death... The Adam and Eve story is just a recast of an old Babylonian epic about how man incurred death. How he forfeited the chance to dwell indefinitely on earth... The serpent is one of Ninghiszida or Dimuzi who where the serpent of the good and evil tress respectively..And the guard of Anu heavenly palace. They offered Adapa the food of life that would have made him immortal but he refused and Anu sent him back to earth. He initially broke Ninlil (south wind) wings and she swore to kill him, he ran to meet EA(Enki) who told him to go to Anu who was the only one who could help, but warned him not to eat whatever was set before him. So when Ninghiszida and Dimuzi ushered him , Anu instructed them to give him the bread of life. He refused and they told him.."you will become like one of us" just like the serpent told the man in the garden... Long story short, he lost the chance of immortality but in his case he did not eat... |

MaxInDHouse:So we're not supposed to take the bible literally? |
Re: Did God Lie? by MaxInDHouse(m): 5:00pm On Nov 16, 2023 |
Hohenheim:The Author suggests TEACHING so that you can understand what is written in His book {Matthew 28:20} but if you choose to read like a novel you can't see anything because you will continue saying "it doesn't make sense" whereas millions around the world are benefiting from the things they've learned in it. Isaiah 48:17-18 The particular place you're quoting is not meant to be taking literally that's why i gave you the MEANING. So instead of concluding on what you feel it's saying form the habit of asking to understand it's message! Proverbs 2:1-5 compare to Matthew 7:7-8 1 Like 1 Share |

Re: Did God Lie? by MaxInDHouse(m): 7:32am On Nov 17, 2023 |
Hohenheim:Your decision is not a problem after all each of us will use his brain to figure out what really matters but then instead of concluding when you can't see any benefit an intelligent person will try to find out the benefit of what is in that book. There is no subject having to do with human behavior that you can take literally and successfully achieve anything because humans are free agents and our thinking is not the same but then those who are really intelligent still figure out how to organize their people. God's word is full of idioms that you need to be taught it's meanings otherwise you will say "Max is a cheetah" means "Max is an animal" whereas it simply means "Max is really fast" |

Re: Did God Lie? by MaxInDHouse(m): 6:43am On Nov 18, 2023 |
jaephoenix:By placing such passages beside God's plan (will) if you know that a man can't be a cheetah then you should know that whatever is written in the Bible which doesn't correlate with God's will is not to be taken literally! 1 Like 1 Share |
