#onestepsmarter Makes Getting Home Tutor Affordable For Nigerians Living Abroad by mrdigitalm: 3:57am On Jan 06 |
As a Nigerian now living abroad, how much do you think it costs to get a private tutor for your child in the UK, Canada, the US, etc.? Here is the answer - $40 - $150 per hour. That's roughly N40000 to N150000 just for one hour of private tutoring for your child. If you think I am lying, check out the screenshot attached below from a Google search. So how exactly do Nigerians living abroad afford private tutoring for their children? I'd like to hear all of your replies. But first, let me talk about one program I just found out recently. Disclaimer - this is one of my clients and I built a landing page for them. Introducing - the #OneStepSmarter program - private lessons for Nigerian kids living in the diaspora. This is the best way to get private tutors at an affordable rate. How exactly do they do this? The reason private tutoring is expensive in the UK, Canada, in the US e.t.c is because in-person lessons over there require more resources. Imagine having to pay your rent as a tutor living in the UK and charging less than $40 per hour. So what #oneStepSmarter does is bring together well-qualified tutors living in Nigeria, where the cost of living is lower. These tutors are not cheap - you still get to pay these tutors a considerable amount of money. But considering the exchange rate and the cost of living in Nigeria, what #oneStepSmarter charges for tutoring fees is far more affordable than what an in-person tutor will charge you in the UK, Canada, the US e.t.c So how are the classes done? Online. Are online classes better than in-person tutoring? Let me borrow a quote from #OneStepSmarter's landing page to explain
Online classes come with one more advantage - they help your child get used to using technology very effectively. CNN, one of the most trusted media outlets in the world, has reported that "technology-led learning is becoming the norm" (check attached screenshot below). Do you want your child to be left behind? If no, then join #oneStepSmarter So how much do they actually charge? According to them, it depends on how many sessions you are going for and how many kids you are enrolling. But it certainly isn't a $40 - $150 fee that others are charging. My point overall is this - if you want to get affordable private tutors for your child as a Nigerian living abroad, you should get an online private tutor. Personally, I can vouch for the #oneStepSmarter program as one way to achieve this. You can check out their landing page to get more details.
