As Muslim faithful around the world commence this year's 1445 Ramadan fasting, the National President, National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE), Engr. Comrade Adebiyi Opeyemi Adeyeye, has enjoined followers of Prophet Muhammad to use the holy month to pray for the prosperity of Nigeria.

The statement describes the holy month of Ramadan as a renewed opportunity for the Muslims faithful to seek God’s forgiveness and recommit to the ideals of Islam.

"The holy month of Ramadan is the month of blessings, love, giving, sharing, forgiveness, prayers and reading of the Holy Qur’an and above all is the month of answering prayers”.

The President urges Muslims to imbibe the teachings of the Holy month through Taqwa and giving sadaqa to the needy and the less privileged and to also pray for peace, progress of the country.

The statement further appeals to Muslims faithful in Nigeria especially workers to use the holy month of Ramadan to pray for Allah’s intervention for incessant kidnapping and insecurity in the country.

The President also appealed to workers to give their best for the development of their various states and the country in general.

Engr. Adeyeye further urged Muslims to use the Ramadan period to repent from all bad acts and other social vices by following the teachings of the noble Prophet Muhammad (SAW) as he prayed for the successful completion of the Ramadan fast with ease and blessings.
