Kola Ologbondiyan, former national publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic (PDP), has urged Yahaya Bello, former governor of Kogi state, to “come out of hiding and submit himself to the law”.

Bello who has been declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged money laundering, said through his counsel that his failure to appear before a federal high court in Abuja is due to fear of arrest by the anti-graft agency.

Speaking with TheCable on Wednesday, Ologbondiyan said Bello should listen to Nigerians who have asked him to submit himself to the law.

“He is left with only one choice and that is, he should go and face the law,” Ologbondiyan said.

Whether he is guilty or innocent, it is the law that will decide that. All these shenanigans by him is needless.

“My advice for him is that he should submit himself to the law. He was a chief law officer of Kogi state for eight years, how then can he be running away from that law?

“He should listen to the wise counsel of Nigerians who have said that he should go and face the law.”

On Wednesday, the ex-governor’s media team said Bello is not running from the law but wants due process to be followed.

Bello is probably sending people behind doors to beg the president on his behalf.

This EFCC drama is not really per say about Bello's governance in Kogi state , na only Bello be ex governor with corruption charges.

Anyways, may God help them to settle their scores amicably

Which hiding? Is he not communicating with phone wherever he is? If the EFCC really wants to get him today, they can. Enough of the drama

Enough of this joke. Yahaya is not hiding anywhere. They know his location. This drama is not necessary. If they want to arrest him they should, if they want to let him go scot free, they should. Enough of this Yahaya this, Bello that..... Let's be serious for once in this country haba

All this drama isn't necessary. Let him just go and shake hands with EFCC Chairman. That is all.
Akpabio isn't in jail today, rather he's the Senate president after all the financial misappropriation as a governor, and as NDDC boss. Same goes for other past governors.
We have a long way to go in Nigeria.

EFCC should change their strategy; stop chasing after people who have squandered money. Build a system that stops them from squandering it; that was what Jonathan wanted to achieve before he was booted out

Bello has been disgrace, a former governor running like a common thief because of greed. If he can eat public yam, he should be able to explain to the public why he ate their yam. 750k dolls for school fees when there's no meaningful development for 8 years. It's shameful.

That’s how they behave when accountability is demanded from them.

The way this case is going, it’s like the anti corruption czar will keep to his word & exit. White lion isn’t that bold to face the eagle😂

Do you know that THE WICKED RUNNETH WHEN NO ONE PURSUETH........his hands are obviously not clean, he has wickedly taken the people's monies for personal deals. EFCC please deal with this soul but never leave others. We know them: some hiding in power, some out of power, KALU, SENATE'S CHRISTMAS PACKAGE, DAN DOLLAR, RIVERS MAGICIAN, SUPREME COURT GOVERNOR, GOVERNOR ELEYI, BANDIT LORD, etc.

Other governors where invited and they showed up.
Bello is afraid because his methodology used in stealing was too easy and traceable. EFCC chairman allegation of him withdrawing directly from the government coffer to a BDC is one heavy one . Remember the former Governor of Taraba State Rev Jolly during his trail said 'I am an accountant and know the consequences of withdrawing money directly from the state coffer, I will steal it in a more better way than doing such mistake'
