Their new prices have already been confirmed. Gotv Supa+ is now N15,700 against it's former price of N12,500.

The problem with Nigerians is that we don't speak with one voice. Tribalism really divided us. If not tell me how these criminals would constantly keep exploiting us year in year out and all we can do is to grumble on social media without any action?

You call them.criminals ? The fact still remains that we chase rat while our houses are on fire . Muktuchoice is a business entity facing the same hatch policy of your govt. The pay for your electricity. The pay for your increase in fuel and diesel. The pay tax ...They have workers that receive salary .Tell me is the business climate in Nigeria conducive ? Many businesses are folding up ...others are relocating to friendly countries . It takes a man with lion heart to remain in business in Nigeria. The reason why people like dangote is still in business is cos he is a monopolist ...If he faces competition in a free market ...he will fold. One of the objectives if business us profit maximisation . If you are unhappy with multi choice charges ...establish your own company and charge less . We have witnessed how others came in briefly and left without notice . Only your govt need to be blamed not multichoice

Many will just prefer to say nonsense just because you aren't happy with the person in government.
The price hike only applies to Band A which are majorly business owners. If there could be 20-24 power supply, it is more preferable to be running their business on diesel

Why didn't they tell Dangote not to increase price of cement?

Una go dey babablu nonsense.

The president should not bother going to get foreign investors if you will be using court orders to prevent them from determine the prices of there services in a bid to stay in business.

You are empty. You are the one arguing, by now I expect to see any authority from a news paper or magazine stating cable television is outlawed to use pay as you use system...

Otherwise I will take it you are an empty basket, just going round nairaland, arguing baselessly.
Full man, the tech behind pay TV can not allow you pay as you go just like GSM, as your subscription only give you access by given you equivalent in number of hours, either you on your decoder or not, the hour will be counting.

See how your reason because your bread winner doesn't work there. I think the state of Nigeria has affected people's mindset. They don't mind to crash everything in Nigeria as it is. Pressure wah.

You're the cause of most problem with this mentality of yours. Even Discos is Pay as you use for those using prepaid metre . Why can't multchoice ( DStv) do the same instead of ripping us off each passing months.

Why should they increased fuel, gas, diesel, electricity, good stuff, tax and even dollar exchange and they don't want them to increase their goods and services? Pls allow them to run their business the way they want,if you don't like it then switch over to startimes, tstv or even your local TV NTA.

This is not fear at all. DSTV as a community has the right to increase their subscriptions as required. They're not forcing anyone to subscribe or do business with them. When did they not interfere with Dangote's price of cement?

You people will just open mouth waaaaa.

There is price control in every country of the world. You can't just set a price for your products or services because you own a business. Don't just open your mouth and be talking anyhow.

I said their new price adjustments have been confirmed because I also got their message. Go back and read my previous message.

You just confirmed what I said with regards to the price increment which gotv themselves confirmed. Yet you're calling me a liar.

Simple comprehensive English is so difficult for most of you guys on Nairaland.

Lol were the new prices NOT confirmed before now.

A case was initiated against dstv ab initio because they released a statement about an increase in prices with effect from May 1 2024.

The price increase has now been suspended by a ruling of the FCCPC.

So which confirmed are you referring to Sir.

Continue to support evil; because you have shares with DSTV, you are supporting random increase in subscription fees within 6 months.
But you were among the people that shouted when electricity tarrif was hiked.

Intervened like I don't get.

Our right to keep them in this country or not.

Our right to watch our own movies on our local channels

Our right to design cartoons and put them on tv on our local channels.

Why don't we have subscribe our radio stations on DStv ??

there are regulatory bodies... Make dem give dem freedom to finish us arbi

The Regulatory body should be working with DSTV on how and when to adjust their fees. Should they be operating at a loss? No , but they should not be gouging their subscribers either. The regulatory agency should know their cost of doing business and work the company to allow the company raise rates by applying for a justifiable rate increase request. In Nigeria, we operate a quasi democratic and socialist country. We still want everything free (free education, healthcare, housing, subsidized pms,) but Nigeria's government is never good at these things because of the Nigerian factor. Everybody only looking out for their own pocket and not for the greater good. Once DSTV gives these guys bribe, the issue will go away

But, you can limit your electricity usage by putting off unimportant appliances at a time. It is not so for your dstvies because you watch it or not your subscription is reading.
Mind you, I know it is possible you are not a multichoice subscriber or on a band a tariff

Electricity is a necessity. DSTV is not. If they continue to increase their prices, we will stop renewing our subscriptions.

Cable tv is not a necessity.

They should have ordered Dangote not to increase price of cement.
