Journalists in Burkina Faso are facing forced conscription into the army as a repercussion for criticizing the government, according to Sadibou Marong, the West African director of Reporters Without Borders.

The rights group says at least two journalists have been summoned and one escaped after a brief period in the army. This follows a crackdown on foreign media outlets for reporting on accusations of human rights abuses by the Burkina Faso army. What do you make of this action by the military junta?

This is why I don't like military junta, because of the tyranny, high-handedness and other barbaric behavior under military regime.

This is what Military Dictatorship is all about. It's not about what idiots in Nigeria fantasize about.

It's the forceful acquisition of ANYTHING and ANYONE without consequence. They'll behave anyhow and take anything they want.

If a General wants your wife. She's a general's wife now. And if you so much as grunt in disapproval, they'll gun you down. And laugh about it too.

Military Dictatorship is a BAD idea. Especially in Africa where EXTREME wickedness is follow-come.

Dele Giwa got killed via the effects of a parcel bomb at his off Allen Avenue residence in Ikeja, Lagos State in 1986 (the same year Prof. 'Wole Soyinka won the Nobel prize for Literature) during the ruthless IBB military years.

Second, during the very corrupt and brutal years of the Abacha military dictatorship in the 1990s, a Journalist Bagauda Kaltho got killed via a bomb at Hamdala Hotel in Kaduna, Sylvester Odion Akhaine, Bayo Onanuga and Kunle Ajibade both of The News Magazine and other Journalists got arrested, beaten, and sent to isolated jails alongside several lawyers and pro-democracy activists. So, military rule isn't the BEST to be honest.

Look at how the Niger Republic military junta is blindly replacing the French and American forces in their country with the Russian forces... They are busy replacing one form of White neocolonialism with another form of White neocolonialism, instead of these people to learn to be truly independent and ONLY work in the area of partnerships with friendly countries around the world.

Like I said earlier... The brilliant and wise Africans are no longer in this continent.

Look at the crop of leaders, their followers and even opposition, and you will see the truth in my words.

Well if you are that patriotic to criticize the military operations, you should be brave enough to pick up a weapon to do better than the soldiers.
Here we have people in our country who have been criticizing our military operations against boko haram and even mocking the army. But give them 🔫 to fight and dem go piss for pant.
Much respect to the army.
And for the record, there is lots of forced conscription happening daily in Ukraine, a western-backed democratic country. So let us rest.

Rufai Oseni and his fellow Obidient journalists should also be forced to join the military and sent to SE to fight against unknown gun men/ESN. Shebi they were all calling for military intervention.

They criticised your government, so put them in government by giving them your position, and not to conscript them into the army.
