This thread is a sequel to the previous one below; https://www.nairaland.com/8090820/indian-consulate-vietnam-robbing-nigerians#129933594 Where I narrated how the Indian consulate in Saigon tried to cheat me. I wrote an email to their embassy in Hanoi and the consulate in Saigon, and made it clear to them that I will be proceeding with a lawsuit against them. The email must have rattled them since they realized I have a strong case. So, I later got a mail from the consulate and he told me to come and meet him personally over the issue. I got there and I could sense he was relieved to see me. He apologized over the incident and told me that it was a new policy and both the Indian and Nigerian governments endorsed it. I responded by telling him that the crux of the matter was the fact his staff never told me. At least, if they did, I would have gone to another country. The moment they accepted my money and collected my passport and documents based on the fee has completed the transaction. Any other error was 💯 theirs, not mine. The consulate then directed them to process the visa and make it available to me without any additional fee. When I created the earlier thread, some people made unreasonable comments based on tribalism and other sentiments. Nigerians should really know when to stand together on issues that could affect anyone, especially if you’re holding the green passport. Unfortunately, I wrote to the office of Abike Dabiri but they never responded to my mail despite the fact it was an injustice against a Nigerian. It seems they only respond if the person involved has political connections and that’s sad. Anyways, the issue has been resolved amicably and I thank all those that supported me in that thread and the mod that moved it to front page. 8 Likes 2 Shares |

proeast: I was one of those that based it on tribal lines and also said you should do something else like you have done. On the part of tribalism, I'm sorry. But, I'm glad that it had been sorted. 2 Likes 1 Share |
