The Pains Of Not Being Able To Stand Up For Myself by AwokenVawulence: 5:31pm On May 15 |
Hi everyone, so l will make this brief as possible. Yesterday I got assaulted by a close friend of mine, which is also my roommate and course mate .it was the first time he did such and he told me he is truly sorry that it was out of a fit of rage . I'm not a strong fellow when it comes to strength physically and this has really shaped my life heavily, right from in federal secondary boarding school I was bullied at times. Some reasons why I have been assaulted are due to the facts ,I wasn't tall (just a little below average) ,i think i had a late puberty that's why i looked so young even till now people mistake my age by about 2-3years less( born 2005, 19 this year) . I always try as much not to argue so as to reduce the chance of getting beaten up due to the fact of most fights happening like this, I don't insult anyone just sometimes to jokingly ,I try as much not to raise my , not to cause trouble and so on but still sometimes trouble it would come and it's really depressing . So getting back to the topic we had an argument of me by accident dropping some egg shells on where the floor he just cleaned I couldn't see it because it was dark and I have a poor vision (I wear glasses), so it caused an argument then he slapped me , I wanted to just leave at that moment but he would let me , I broke down and started to sob not because of the pain of the slap but because of the flash backs from boarding school when i had to ghost someone looking for me to beat up which we later found out the item got missing in his possession and not mine another incident in which because I finished a drink without someone and so on . I was seriously short of breath the first time such happened when I cried. Honestly I wish I was tall and strong, thou I'm average height about 5'9 and very skinny,so that I can defend myself and others I really hate not being able to express myself without fearing of being punched . Currently I'm 200lvl studying medicine ,and there is no gym close by my logde .I am considering telling my parents about it , am sure they would be shocked because they know him . I don't want to worry them and because of the situation they have to rent another year which is a lot of money. People that can relate to this how can I overcome this because I thought it stopped as I left college but yesterday was a reminder that it will still happen. I constantly think of becoming tall and strong and praying this to God and I'm becoming depressed by this imagine 2 days ago someone used his car to partially destroy a lady chair in her shop and when he came out to argue with the lady and she said if it was his fault to me and I confirmed he wanted always punched me and I had to hide back. Please your opinions are all welcomed

Tell your parents about the assault, you are their child and most parents would be eager to know what their child faces in school. As for that friend that slapped you over such a minor issue, forgive him, but keep him at arm's length or cut off totally from him, his apologies is complete trash. 5'9 is not a bad height, most guys around your age have a thin frame. You should start doing excercises to build up. 1 Like |
