Empowering Nigeria's Youth with Affordable Transportation!

The Presidential CNG Initiative (PCNGI) is distributing 2,000 CNG-powered tricycles to informal youth in the transportation sector, as part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's @officialABAT administration's efforts to reduce transportation costs for Nigerians.

STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE

PCNGI COLLABORATES WITH COMMERCIAL TRANSPORTERS TO SLASH TRANSPORT COSTS, EMPOWERS 2000 YOUTH WITH TRICYCLES

The Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGi) commenced today a Transport Fare Drop Programme across the country, starting with Abuja, as it ramped up the adoption of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as a cleaner, more affordable alternative to fuel.

Representatives of the PCNGi signed an MOU with the National Union of Road Transport Workers covering the Abuja to Itakpe Station—Ajaokuta Train Station—Adavi route to convert fleet vehicles to CNG in return for a 30-40% fare reduction.

This programme will encourage NURTW members in Abuja to convert their vehicles to CNG in exchange for a fare reduction.

On Saturday, September 28th, 2024, the PCNGi will continue its nationwide commercial incentive programme for commercial car open days, expanding to 38 centres in Kaduna, Abuja, Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Delta, and Edo states.

The PCNGi will sign an agreement with the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF) on Monday, September 30th, to operationalise the Nigerian Police CNG Conversion Programme and train cadets to manage the strategic conversion centres the NPTF is investing in.

According to the PCNGi's Programme Director, Michael Oluwagbemi, this initiative will help train the police cadets to manage strategic conversion centres established by the NPTF.

Similarly, to celebrate Nigeria’s 64th Anniversary of Independence on October 1st, 2024, the PCNGi will launch the CNG Tricycle Empowerment Program in collaboration with the Ministry of Youths.

This program aims to provide over 2000 young Nigerians with the opportunity to own and operate CNG-powered tricycles.

The PCNGi will launch the Kogi State Conversion Incentive Programme on Wednesday, October 2nd, and hand over CNG buses to the state's mass transit entity to ply interstate routes to Abuja.

Additionally, the PCNGI will inaugurate three new CNG conversion sites in the state.

To conclude the week’s activities, the PCNGI will launch in Ekiti State, where the handover of CNG buses to the state mass transit organisation to ply the route to Abuja will take place. It will also inaugurate four new CNG conversion sites in the state.

Issued on behalf of PCNGi

There is also a programme for private vehicles to convert to CNG and pay in instalments.

Woye @woye1

This is not correct. 1: Note this and you can verify from my media because I monitored all the centers in Abuja today with the National Coordinator of PCNG. For commercial drivers, it is Free of Charge.

2: check my media that I interacted with NIPCO Branch Manager too.

3: For individuals, nothing like 1.2m Whatsoever, payment dey small small. Why are our people dey mislead others like this

It is a dual fuel system, once you run out of gas, the system automatically switches to petrol without asking you and without the engine going off

From Chief Dr. Innocent Chukwuma, founder of Innoson:

"The CNG vehicles are a solution, that's why we produce them. We made space for CNG, LNG, and Fuel so that anyone available in an area can be used to drive the vehicles. Electric cars, biogas, and solar-powered vehicles are also produced in this factory".

Insecurity: Recruit 50 million youths into army, Tinubu urges FG

All Progressives Congress chieftain, Bola Tinubu, on Monday, urged the Federal Government to recruit at least 50 million youths into the Nigerian Army to boost Nigeria’s fight against terrorism, banditry and all forms of internal and external security threats confronting the nation.

Tinubu spoke at the 12th colloquium to celebrate his 69th birthday in Kano State.

He said, “We are under-policed and we are competing with armed robbers and bandits to recruit from the youths who are unemployed —33 per cent unemployed?”

“Recruit 50 million youths into the army,” he stated, adding that “what they will eat —cassava, corn, yam, will grow here.”

The APC chieftain, while reacting to recent statistics by the National Bureau of Statistics that over 23 million Nigerians are jobless, also urged the government to create jobs for youths in the agricultural value chains.

He said, “Don’t talk about illiteracy, anybody who can hold a gun, who can handle a gun, who can cock and shoot is technically competent to repair a tractor in the farm.”

Oga, democracy is a government of the people and if the court has declared him the winner of the election, we will take what we see as the outcome of what we voted for. Our rantings wouldn't change a thing.

Ronus on top. I see the reason why people from Potopoto republic ALWAYS eventually run to Yorubaland. Their brains only thinking about what they will benefit now while Yoruba man is planning for the future. They didnt see what Tinubu was planning but its getting clearer little by little. And its not up to TWO YEARS of Tinubu Presidency.

Yeah, right...........................the rantings of Tinubu, Buhari and other APC people did not change a thing from before 2015, which is why we ended up with Buhari as president who handed over to ebilokan to continue APC's worsening of everything they inherited from Jonathan and PDP.

Oil slump: Bring down fuel price immediately, Fashola tells FG ON DECEMBER 7, 2014

Lagos—As the global oil prices slid further downward, Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State, yesterday, asked the Federal Government to review downward the pump prices of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS,  from N97 per litre in the country in tandem with the slump in world oil price. President Jonathan and Gov Babatubde Fashola of Lagos The Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC, had last Friday, on its website pegged the oil price at $66.27 per barrel.

Fashola who blasted FG for its reluctance to adjust the pump price of   PMS, made the remarks while addressing hundreds of youths at the  Lagos State and After School  Graduation Development Centre,  AGDC, IGNITE Employability Project 5, Ikeja. He lamented that Nigerians were not receiving fair treatment from the central government like others in oil producing nation. Fashola said, “Now we should be enjoying cheap fuel if the price of oil has dropped globally. Even as we import the product, a major component has reduced in price and while this has reduced, the pump price of fuel in the country still remains the same. “Then something is wrong. If the price increases in the country when the price of oil goes up globally, then it should also reduce when the price of oil drops. “I understand that I am not an economist; they (Federal Government) are the economists. But I have some logic and common sense to ask critical questions.

For instance, if one buy flour at N10 per kilogram, and the bread was sold at N1 per loaf. If the price of flour drops, the price of the bread should also change,” Fashola added. The governor, therefore, urged President Goodluck Jonathan led administration to follow the footstep of other countries that have reduced the pump price of oil products for their citizens. Fashola noted that the oil sector of the country had not been improved to address challenges confronting the nation especially unemployment, saying “The economy is not doing well. Some of you (audience) are compelled to try to survive through whatever means.” On how the oil sector would have addressed the unemployment challenges, he said. “If we are trying to build refinery with Dangote in Lekki Free Zone, LTZ, in Epe; and the construction alone would require 8, 000 workers. It means that they must get to work and back. So there is need for transportation service, there is need for food and other services during work and post construction. “So if we stop importing fuel, and start building refineries and doing other things right the economy will lift. If you build a gas grid for the country and rough estimate indicated that investing $5 billion, many businesses will began to get gas and some of the power installation can also convert to gas and others, there would be sudden positive effect on the country’s economy.”

Yeah, all the PCNGI programmes are done in phases (they can't possibly do everything in one day). For example, they've been running the conversion programme every weekend for more than a month now. The 2,000 tricycles are the tricycles that will be distributed in one place (Abuja) on one day (Independence Day).

Their brains only thinking about what they will benefit now while Yoruba man is planning for the future. They didnt see what Tinubu was planning but its getting clearer little by little. My only problem with Tinubu's presidency is that it seems not to be too bothered about the urgency to impact positively on the society. It seems to have some good programmes but they keep saying 'we will, we will and we will' . That seems to suggest that they don't seems to believe their programmes.

If you take this CNG conversion programme, it will significantly lower transport cost but they refused to show any serious interest in it. Is it so difficult to setup a conversion centre or is it that we don't have CNG ?

If you look at agric, the major problem with agric is insecurity. Nigerians want to farm without been forced but they are being killed and their crops and investment been destroyed. Why is it so difficult to use even the military to protect these farmers. Now everybody are out of the farms and government will now need to beg for anybody to truly go into agric.

They keep talking about everybody helping themselves to our solid minerals. That sector is significantly been managed by the Chinese who are effortlessly smiling to the banks.

Everybody is thinking how much oil could be stolen from Nigeria making it difficult to even meet OPEC quota. Gas is being fleered away from different field as I write while we are shouting about poverty and we can't even meet our local gas demand but we are busy fighting over how much Dangote should sell PMS.

There are several opportunities that just need a little support from government that will give significant value not all these palliative which will never get to the desired people.
