Kai.... If you follow Nigerian's mouth take make policy, they go put you for trouble. I cannot count the number of times I used to hear before now, statements like "We are paying for darkness, give us power and we wee pay for it" Now people don see light now they de write petitions. Kai. Just like subsidy removal, almost every so called expert on TV and radio programs said subsidy had to go and that no nation can afford to have multiple exchange rates, now government removed subsidy and harmonised the exchange rate. As soon as there was a fallout of increase in prices and high inflation, the so called experts abandon government to face the music alone. Even some of the candidates like the lamba king wen be talk say Day 1 he go remove subsidy start to de change mouth. So, people who were saying that they were ready to pay for power as long as it is available, where are they? 57 Likes 5 Shares |

9jatriot:In the US their average minimum wage per month is about $2,400. And their average electricity bill per month is about $140. That's less than 10% of their minimum wage. And note they have uninterrupted power supply. Compare it to Nigeria where minimum wage is 70k and some people using post paid in Band A pay over 100k every month. How can your electricity bill be higher that your minimum wage and you don't expect people to voice out their frustrations? Where on earth does that happen? A friend in the east called me and was lamenting that his monthly post paid bill is 155k. How much is he earning, isn't the government plunging people into poverty. Even if you want to defend the government, try to be reasonable. Imagine you're earning 200k and your street is dragged to band A where you'll have to spend over 75% of your income on electricity would you applaud the government? When citizens of other countries spend less than 10% of their income on electricity, you're here defending a government that's making her citizens pay over 75% of their income on electricity. If you don't have any problem with that, it means you're still living in your parents house. The day you become independent and start paying your own bills your orientation would change. 50 Likes 5 Shares |

Here in Portharcourt, most Band A areas have 22 to 24 hours light but electricity bill don pass house rent now. Flats without meters pay N118k monthly as estimated bill. Those with prepaid meters spend slightly lesser or even higher depending on your consumption. The new meters they give out gulps units like water. Whoever survives Tinubu's government ought to give God a Special thanksgiving. This is just 16 months of rule out of 48 months ooo. 32 months to go God, please have mercy on your children. 16 Likes |
