Fishermen in Kebbi state, north west Nigeria have killed a hippopotamus, and shared its parts as meat to the people.

The animal was killed on the order of the Governor and enforced by the Emir of Yauri, Zayyanu Abdullahi, after it was said to have killed one of the emir’s staff

It was put down by the efforts of 40 fishermen using bows and arrows have after an extensive search

The animal was later ferried in a local dugout canoe to the Palace of District Head of Gungu, Kasimu Aliyu, where it was slaughtered and its parts shared as meat to people.

Kebbi state has a large body of water and is renowned for its large fishing community. It hosts the annual Argungu fishing festival

However citing of Hippopotamuses are rare in Kebbi. The animal can live on both land and water.

The governor should have called wildlife conservationists instead, we need to do away with this african mentality

Under this Tinubulation, any living thing that has sufficient meat automatically qualities as stomach infrastructure. grin

Funny enough, the Tinubulation is still in the Balablu stage. By the time we get to Bulaba, fellow humans may qualify as stomach infrastructure. grin

Hippos kill more humans than lions or even crocodiles every year..and they are hard to get to to hunt in Nigeria. and they aren't endangered..let the brave people enjoy their meat..

i bet hippo meat is delicious..like beef but softer

Hippos are very aggressive and territorial animals, people should stay away from their habitat

40 humans to kill one of those things. They are like pigs; they fight to the very end. They should enjoy. Hippos are very dangerous creatures.
