80 New Vehicles Bought With Public Funds Delivered To APC Loyalists In Wike’s FCT –Report

Monitng, a civic technology platform, has voiced concerns over the distribution of public funds in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), highlighting the need for fair and transparent use of resources.

The platform’s founder, Ilevbaoje Uadamen, on Friday, said projects funded by taxpayers should not favour political loyalists over the broader community.

The recent allocation of N10 billion by the Federal Government for youth empowerment in the FCT has come under scrutiny after Monitng’s tracking indicated that 80 new vehicles were distributed to APC party loyalists.

“Public funds should never be a vehicle for rewarding party loyalists at the expense of the common good,” Uadamen stated.

He added, “Taxpayers’ money is a shared resource, meant to serve all citizens fairly, not to advance personal glory or political agendas.”

Addressing the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, Uadamen urged that “taxpayer-funded projects should not favour a selected few.”

He emphasised, “Citizens' participation in project implementation is essential to ensure their needs are met.”

The statement by Monitng underscores the importance of equitable resource allocation and advocates for citizen involvement in public project oversight to guarantee transparency and fair benefits across the FCT.

We acknowledge the Federal Government's allocation of ₦10 billion for youth empowerment in the FCT. However, our tracking revealed that 80 new vehicles were delivered to APC party loyalists,” it added.

The public are not bothered.........The public are dead already so any Govt official can do anyhow they want with the public funds.

Govt officials have spent times 20 of that amount for their selfish Aggrandizement and the public are as static as a dummy watching...

A public that watch sheepishly as their President increase their fuel pump price 4 times in one year.....Is that one a Public??

There is no Public anywhere in Nigeria let alone Public fund.

They should share their data to conclusively prove that the 80 recipients are exclusively APC loyalists. However it must be said also that provided the loyalists-so called, cut across all regions and ethnicities of Nigeria, then there is no legal ground for complaints. Loyalists are Nigerian citizens after all.

You have a problem. Of all the issues bothering FCT, the important thing is to dash loyalists vehicles. Abuja lacks mass transit bus, which leads to one chance thriving. The over inflated cost they would have put down for those 80 vehicles can buy 20 coaster bus to help ease transportation at an affordable rate since most people live far away from their place of work.

Once again you have a problem.
