Click on the Start Menu on the taskbar of your system. After that Right-Click on Computer, Then Click on Properties. A window will appear showing the properties / basic information about your computer. I would have attached a screenshot here but the file is too large to be uploaded. |

Leave the first table titled "User variables for owner" and go to the second table titled "System variables", In the second table titled "System Variables", scroll down till U get to a tab titled "Path", double-click on "Path", another window will pop up with two tabs titled "variable name" and "variable value". Click on variable value, at the end of the last letter in the tab labelled "variable value", add a semi-colon(and then type in the path of your python environment. If ur using python 2.7, the path would be C:\Python27, if its python 2.6, the path would be C:\Python26 and so on and so forth. Am not really a gud teacher but i hope the following screenshots would help you:

My variable path has already been added in the pic, just follow the above procedure step by step and am sure u would get it right. After that, to call python on your command line, just open ur command line and type python. The python interpreter mode will be initialized. If u have further problems with this, do not fail to ask. |

you should try using the msi installers, you could go back to source when you get advanced. I recomend that u use A byte of python by Swaroop C. H. It is currently the best python tutorial on the web for biginners, and is actually recomended by the python comunity. It is available at www.swaroopch.com/notes/python. Please feel free to ask questions |
