Women are just unbelievable.theyll be the ones shouting about domestic violence and they'll be the same people metting out violence to helpless girls

She offended and you can't tell her to kneel down Inside, you have to spread her outside like wet clothes.meanwhile you have your own kids and you don't know which hand your kids will fall into when they leave home and are not within your reach.smh

its just tell you the latent violent and aggressive nature hidden inside them. While they shout and cry about domestic violence, noone beats their records. They are to be feared men...

A woman is punishing her house help and u find a way to drag mercy aigbe into the matter for traffic.

Meanwhile this is just kneel down and hands up. Nigerian law does not having anything against corporal punishment for minors. It is only a problem if the person is not a minor

Kneeling hands up outside in the sun and in public is wrong unless she can punish her own child of same age like dat.

No one is saying you should not scold a child, there should be a limit to everything. Kneeling down inside the sun will definitely get her dehydrated and who knows she might faint and might not survive it. And mind you, this is a house help who has come to render service to you and not your child, which means she had no right to punish her, the worst I expected her to do is sack her if she doesn't listen to you. I once accepted a minor under my roof and his father made me know that the boy was very stubborn and I should always report him whenever he misbehaves. Throughout his stay, I never lifted my hands up on him, I only studied him, then I made go through some life test, which he failed and later came back to me pleading for correction and the right way to live his life. It is not every time you beat a minor for every offence. Talk is enough for some of them. Talking senses into some of them head pains them than beating them. Showing them love also matters. That is one of the major thing that makes them listen to you. Let them believe that they are secure with you, then they will bring all the matters of their life to your front for advise. I have seen someone who decided to stop bleaching just because he got close to me and my younger brother, and saw our way of life. We never complained about his bleaching for once, he came up one dat and said he had to change cuz he loved the way we were both living our lives.

Truth be told, it's not easy training someone's child. Even with your own children, they will want to frustrate your life and you won't even know if you should beat or bite them sometimes!
It takes patience and grace of God in handling kids!

Judging with this, I can't help but wonder why people always look for issue where there is none!!
It's OK to punish your kids but when you punish your house help, they tag it child abuse!
Bunch of hypocrites!!
Maid or no maid, as long as you're under my roof, if you misbehave, ama punish you, if you can't abide with my rules, waka go your papa house!

And for your mind, you have really made sense, I guess someone like you will really do more than that. Punishment and abuse are 2 different things. That lady can't do that to her child, even if it was the same offence they committed

Stupid people running their mouth like a lose cassette ,they didn’t even ask what the girl did.

I am sure that she didn't kill her child, that is the worst that could have happened. Even if that should happen, you don't dish out jungle justice. Can you pray that your child is being treated the way majority of Nigeria house help are being treated. Mind you she is there to render service and if she is tired of it she should terminate her appointment. That is all. Does your boss beat you up when you do the wrong thing at work.

God bless you!!.... people are just too dumb to know these things, is it dat d girl is above punishment?? Even bosses at offices do give workers suspension if they do something wrong.

I punish my own kids when they do wrong. I even flog or beat them depending on d offence committed.

She's d one paying, feeding, sometimes clothing d house help, why won't she punish d girl if she did something wrong.

I get the whole people will always talk thing.

But you gotta admit, some women are heartless. They don't treat these helps the way they'd treat their own children sometimes.
It won't be a problem if the way you punish the help is the same way you punish your child.

It only becomes a problem when there's an extreme difference.

E.g, we hear about women scalding helps with hot water... How many of those women would actually pour hot water on their children... No matter the offense?

But this is not the issue here. We are talking about the way this woman in picture treats her own househelp.
To me, I did not see much things bad in telling a child to kneel down and raise his/her hands up.
Would u have preferred physical beating. Or are u telling us that she knelt her down there for the whole day.
We are Africans for God's sake. We discipline children to correct them and set them on the right path.
The Western world lack that and most of the kids there are having too much freedom that erode their good sense of discipline.

I can punish my children/househelp so long as it falls within the ambit of instilling good conduct and discipline in them.
When I punish u, I will always call u after a while to ask u if u really understood why I punished you. I will explain more to you and make u see it was not out of wickedness.

I am very happy that my parents especially my father punished and disciplined me. He flogged me into shape, if not, I for bad well well.
