Primaries: Atiku Leads Jonathan In Pdp opinion Poll by maimalari: 9:33am On Dec 21, 2010
THE Presidential opinion poll on the website of the
Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has placed former
Vice- President, Atiku Abubakar as leading
President Goodluck Jonathan in the presidential
“ war” with 22 votes.
According to the poll, Atiku scored 677 votes out of
1,396 votes, representing 48.5 per cent of the
votes, while Jonathan scored 655, representing
46.9 per cent.
3.4 percent of the voters, that is 46 did not believe
in either of the candidates, even as nine of the
voters, representing  0.6 per cent, were yet to
decide.
Meanwhile, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, North-
Central will today, in line with 20 governors of the
party, endorse President Jonathan in Nasarawa
State.
It will be recalled that delegates of the PDP are
preparing to get a candidate for the party January
13, even as it is not too clear where the pendulum
will shift to or if the figures will remain or change.
Also recall that at the end of last week’s National
Executive Committee, NEC, of the party,
PresidentJonathan ’s aspiration got a boost when
20 out of the 27 governors produced by the PDP
endorsed him.
His endorsement for a single term of four years was
announced by the Governor of Katsina State, Alhaji
Ibrahim Shema, on behalf of his colleagues.

Of course,we all know it is not true. It is a scandal to shift the pendalum, We shall see.I am certain he can not get up to 10% of the votes. grin
Re: Primaries: Atiku Leads Jonathan In Pdp opinion Poll by Gbawe: 12:43pm On Dec 21, 2010
No surprise that Atiku who has consistently scored the lowest in all polls to date for Presidential candidates is now actually leading "endorsement master" GEJ.

Put an 18 year old Northern candidate against GEJ and Mr. President will still fail to clinch the PDP ticket because the ideological thinking and actual stance of the PDP cannot be influenced by non-PDP members. The PDP , IMO, believes completely in zoning. The Party wants to respect its zoning formula while it tries to humour an incumbent President who is insisting on contesting when many feel he should not.  GEJ should stop wasting Nigeria's wealth on an ambition that was dead on arrival.

That vote was from the nuclear and extended families of Adamu Ciroma, Magaji Dambatta, M.D. Yusuf, Ricky Tarfa, David Jimebiwon, M.Z. Anka, Shaaba Lafiaji and Bello Kirfi -- the North's consensus committee jokers. Who even knows about PDP's website? Why not take the poll to Nairaland or Facebook?

Re: Primaries: Atiku Leads Jonathan In Pdp opinion Poll by appletango: 1:05pm On Dec 21, 2010
As somebody stated, this isn't about what people on here or on facebook think. Public opinion really isn't important until after the primaries. What this is really about is what the PDP thinks. And the majority of those within the PDP believe in zoning. GEJ can continue to post on facebook or receive his hollow endorsements but you'll see the real side to nigerian politics come the convention. The party knows its power comes through the zoning principle - and it knows that jettisoning that will spell the end of its power. When push comes to shove they are not stupid enough to commit suicide.
Re: Primaries: Atiku Leads Jonathan In Pdp opinion Poll by EzzyIzzy: 1:06pm On Dec 21, 2010
The only way to stop these people is to vote out PDP at all levels! Each one of us should take up the resposibility of getting a voters card and making sure everyone near you gets one too and voting against PDP.

PDP is a cankerworm and cannot take us anywhere.
Re: Primaries: Atiku Leads Jonathan In Pdp opinion Poll by squeeky: 1:07pm On Dec 21, 2010
Why are people bothered about this too candidates when what we say or do as of now has no influence whatsoever on who will fly the party's flag come 2011.
The delegates will decide amongst the two not you or I, so it doesnt matter who we support its all about what the delegates decide, so lets wait for jan 13th 2011, then we know where we stand either with PDP or not.
Re: Primaries: Atiku Leads Jonathan In Pdp opinion Poll by Orikinla(m): 1:15pm On Dec 21, 2010
Political muugus do not get the facts of political elections in Nigeria.

GEJ leads polls on Facebook.
But there are about 2 million Nigerians on Facebook.
And there are over 43 million Nigerians online.
Millions of them are not yet 18 and cannot vote.
The majority of voters are Hausas, Yorubas, and Igbos and THEY ARE NOT ONLINE.

Put the photographs of GEJ and ATIKU alone on billboards in the north and west and I can bet you that ATIKU will be the choice of the majority.

Indeed. Folks can continue to allude to Nairaland and facebook votes as long as they want. This only shows that they do not understand that the tortuous road to Aso Rock begins with a candidate succesfully clinching the Presidential ticket , and thus endorsement, of his political Party. If you are not a voting PDP delegate then don't speak as if you can influence the emergence of any candidate. GEJ and his fans will learn about real politics come the PDP Primaries. It is wholly instructive that Jonathan , recognising that Politics is a game of number, is trying to cheat the system with his undemocratic attempt at swelling the ranks of those who can vote at the PDP Primaries. GEJ knows that if it were a straight vote amongst card-carrying voting delegates he will lose sorely because core PDP voting delegates actually want to adhere to the zoning arrangement.

B4 and after gej indicated interest to run, all polls conducted were in favor of gej but why is this different, b4 the polls was conducted, were was it advertised or was the polls meant for a particular group of people? Remember, 90% of nigerians don't have access to the internet, so online polls do not in any way represent the wish of the people.

My dear friend , it is called satire . I am surprised you have chosen to interprete it literally. My point, which I believe everyone gets, is that it does not matter who contests against GEJ for the PDP ticket. If the candidate Jonathan will face is from the North that will be enough to secure a win for that person against GEJ. You are an intelligent chap. Do you think all what we are seeing and all that GEJ is doing indicates anything other than that the PDP delegates are ready to 'crown' any Northern opposition to GEJ? Atiku was a very poor candidate up until he became Northern consensus winner. Now he is suddenly leading Jonathan when he was never close before !! Does that not tell you that it is his area of origin that the PDP members are voting for and not neccesarily Atiku himself? By the same token it could be any other Northerner and the result would still be the same. Kapish?

Neither does NL. wink

The PDP presidential ticket will go to who ever respects the zoning arrangement. . . unless serious rigging factors are employed or the other disgruntled party decamps to another party which is tantamount to immediate political annihilation. The only ethnic group that stands to lose any thing in the next 10 years is the Yoruba ethnic group. . .who never planned to adhere to the zonal factor of the PDP. Now watch their massive exodus in droves to the Advanced Cowards of Nigeria political party to act as a 'spoiler' in the upcoming s-election process. Don't we just love you guys. Forget the South-South. . . those are houseboys and housegirls to the West. They have no brains of their own. The reason I can NEVER vote for any South-Southerner. Never. Just by themselves. . . they stand for nothing. I would want the South-South term to end in 2011. . . then the Middle Belt. . . Then Igbo. . . how can the Yoruba man love that huh? cheesy

He's even losing now, cos the poll i can see now on PDP website shows GEJ/Sambo is leading atiku by far.

Anyway, i don't care who wins, all i want is for PDP to sink at least GEJ himself said it undecided

The PDP , IMO, may have comitted political 'Hari-kiri' with the choices of GEJ and Atiku at a time Nigerians are thinking and talking as you are doing i.e "we want the PDP Gone" . If GEJ emerges the PDP candidate then it will be easy to beat him because virtually all Northerners of influence will pledge their political machinery to the opposition Northern Candidate (perhaps Buhari or Ribadu) as the only posibility of the North gaining the Presidency. If Atiku wins then it is still a tall order for the PDP because he is a hard sell and GEJ will surely work against him. Supporters of GEJ, out of spite, will surely vote against Atiku. It is looking good for the opposition Parties - especially if they can achieve some sort of useful union.
