Fantastically corrupt former President Jacob Zuma thought by instigating his supporters to cause havoc he will be released from his jail cell.

South Africa will emerge stronger from this and send a message to all citizens no one is above the law including the number one citizen.

South Africans united to irrespective of race-white,black,indian and asian to clean up the mess left by the Zuma mob who wanted corruption institutionalized through thuggery and brute force and create a nation where some people are above the law.

This is a lesson to Nigeria that has produced some of the most corrupt political leaders to ever walk the planet; that corruption can be fought holistically if you have strong state institutions.

South Africa will win the fight against corruption and be the big brother to inspire other African countries to build strong state institutions.

The picture of Jacob Zuma being processed to his jail cell by female prison wardens makes my eyes watery that Africa will take it's place as a shining star in the world. South Africa has set an example for other African countries to follow.

What a load of absolute GARBAGE.

200+ people have been killed in rioting so far, and over 3,000 injured, with thousands of shops looted, malls burnt down, and business establishments ransacked, burnt and looted across the country, with police nowhere to be seen, and THIS proves South Africa is the ''greatest country in Africa''??

I think you're a complete idiot.

Of course it wasn't your business that was destroyed by violent mobs. Neither was it your bother or sister that was killed by mobs, which is why your head dreams up rubbish to post on Nairaland.

South Africans united irrespective of race to clean up the damage done by the Zuma mob to protect vested interests of the fantastically corrupt.

They have proven state institutions are greater than any single individual.

Clean up WHAT?

You are senseless. The damage done in South Africa is estimated as several billions of dollars, with thousands of businesses destroyed, and some puny 'clean-up' of a bit of trash on the street done for the cameras'' is what is making you post this trash?

Dude, GTFOH.

When you take on vested interest and the fantastically corrupt- this is what to expect. When the state went after Pablo Escobar he launched a campaign of terror in Colombia.

The billions in damage was expected by the state institutions when they sentenced him to jail.

In Nigeria you can collect $5 million dollar bribe in front of cameras, move around with your loot in bullion vans and help Abacha launder billions dollars and the President will campaign for you to govern Kebbi state.

The army and police have brought things under control. There was no need of another group to counter and further fuel the anarchy.

Arrogant Jacob Zuma thought he was part of the 99% of fantastically corrupt Nigerian politicians that are above the law and can away with anything and gave a middle finger to South African people and the state institutions.

He will have 15 months behind bars think about his actions.

This your matter na exactly why dem talk say na 'over-style make monkey fall from tree"

You would have made your point by comparing Zuma arrest to Nigerias corruption and leave it at that. You just spoilt the whole comparison thing the moment you brought up the cleanup as a point of reverence to how they're best in Africa.

Best at what exactly? Cleaning up their mess?

He’s living in denial, isolating ‘Zuma’s mob’ from South Africans, As if Zuma’s mob aren’t South Africans. Since the Xenophobia attacks the world has known them for who they are, this looting spree only helped validate opinions

RuudVanNistelroy I hope the cleanup volunteers restocked all the items that were looted and fixed all the damaged shops

Insurance will cover the expense for the looted items and damaged shops. This experience was needed to strengthen South Africa state institutions and ensure no man born of a woman is above the law.

You think all businesses can afford insurance? Your years of looting from foreigners set precedence to what you've just experienced and from the videos I've seen, it's clear how fragile your country is and how close you are to being a Zimbabwe v2. You should shut the hell up! Nigerians also cleaned Lagos after endsars protests and we didn't make a fuss about it

When will you stop your landlord from collecting 10% commission on taxes of 20 million people through Alpha Beta?

No country can endure what Nigeria has endured in the last 20 years and still call itself a country. That's what makes us a giant! Even the British attested to this.
