Please what is the difference between compromise duty and full duty. What about if an agent charges you money and they end up paying compromised duty even though you paid and tell them you want them to pay full duty. It is confusing to people like me. I took my 2014 Acura MDX to the port early December and they tried to ship on 02/29 but it will not start. This is something that I was driving daily and never had an issue with it. It was driven to Delaware port as the nearest port to me in New Jersey was closed due to fire incident. The next ship in March also did not take it as they said the wheel was locked, they were going to charge me $350 to tow it to the ship but end up charging me $730 to forklift and an additional $530 for storage fee. It ended up costing me almost $3000 for the shipment and if agent paid compromise duty, won’t that be another problem when I start using it in Lagos?

First the compromise is as full duty,customs just use the avenue to extort money from we agent because when the compromise involve its also as real duty ure been giving to pay,but they use that channel for business opportunity to their own pocket,that's why u see FOU too on the road when ever they stop u,they'll want to show muscle cus they understand u did the right thing with settlement in the port to get ur vehicle cleared but extortion can never be deleted in their working skills

What I just want u to understand is that when ever a particular vehicle is gasset to pay an actual duty and ure been convinced that u can as well go for compromise,the compromise duty is the actual duty

The first figure giving to u that u think u want to compromise is just as if u are pricing a pair of Jean from omo igbo at the boutique that told 15k and u end up paying 10k,so definitely 10k is the real deal he just have to see if ure going to price it

But as for customs its professional that's why u guys are not seeing it as pricing

So are the quotes you give whenever we inquire for clearing cost a compromised duty (which is actually the actual fee) or it's a quote like that of Omo Igbo the Jean seller, Thereby making it open for negotiations?
