Using the former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello as a case study to illustrate the consequences of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (*EFCC*) not respecting court orders in Nigeria:

*Undermining Rule of Law*: Alhaji Yahaya Bello's case serves to highlight how disregarding court orders weakens the rule of law. It sets a precedent that undermines the authority of the judiciary and erodes public confidence in the legal system.

*Violation of Rights*: Failure to respect court orders in Alhaji Yahaya Bello's case can lead to the violation of his rights, particularly his right to a fair trial and due process. This violation undermines the fundamental principles of justice and fairness.

*Legal Backlash:* Alhaji Yahaya Bello's situation may trigger legal challenges and increased scrutiny from human rights organizations. This scrutiny could lead to legal actions against the EFCC for its failure to comply with court orders.

*Loss of Public Trust*: When the *EFCC fails to comply with court orders in cases involving public figures like Alhaji Yahaya Bello, it damages public trust in the agency and the entire justice system. This loss of trust hinders cooperation with law enforcement efforts and undermines the effectiveness of the EFCC's mandate.

*Political Fallout*: Non-compliance with court orders in Alhaji Yahaya Bello's case can lead to political controversy and public outcry. It tarnishes the reputation of the EFCC and the government, especially if perceived as politically motivated. This fallout can have far-reaching implications for governance and public perception of accountability.

To conclude, the *EFCC's failure* to respect court orders in cases like that of Alhaji Yahaya Bello *undermines the principles of justice, democracy, and the rule of law* in Nigeria, with significant ramifications for the country's legal system and society as a whole.

Efcc should get it's acts right. The fact is in my opinion efcc has not been able to build any case against him. Hence the need to harass him and bully him into submission.

Note, I am not holding brief for any alleged criminal sharp practices. But that due process must be followed
