From other social media accounts of the story someone said her 3 kids were in Naija with the husband and he threatened that she would never see them again, if she didn't include him in the travel/relocation plans.

The threat of not seeing her kids again was hanging over head like any good/responsible mother she gave into the threat for the sake of her kids. The narrator said she was also a nurse in Naija and she single handedly sponsored herself to UK before all of this drama.

I have been appalled by the comments of many male users here who have condemned and blamed the dead woman without knowing the full story. Even when presented with the facts on this thread one guy persisted in his foolishness.

From my experience of things in mediating in relationships, and I am not excusing the violence meted on her either, they have a marriage that has normal turbulence like everyone else, they have gone to UK and she has met one or two Nigerian women at work, who interestingly are themselves no longer married, in dead marriages or have full control over their husbands.

These ones then start filling her head with complete bunkum or maybe even some sense. She then decides to approach the matter in an aggressive "you have done me wrong" manner. The man, who himself is used to a docile wife, also reacts badly to the new version. Arguments, shouting and physical violence (on both sides until she is overpowered, only a few proportion of men actually just seek to assault women who are sitting around minding their own business) then follow.

Things the spiral out of control whilst her advisers continue with their own lives. Sadly in this instance, the lack of control of by both of them in various ways has ensured children now have a much more difficult future ahead and those are the ones that the focus should be on.

The appeal to the Nigerian government and High commission to ensure couples moving over there are given some form of counselling has fallen on deaf ears.
