The recent minimum wage of N70,000 announced by Edo State government has been described as a Greek gift hurriedly put together because of the governorship election coming up on September 21, 2024, in the state.

Lol, well i see it differently. I think the current government wants to empty the state's treasury for the coming government to generate their own money. We've seen this in almost all past governments. They tend to spend more public funds during their last tenures. Wike embarked on more projects during his last tenure, Buhari almost left zero naira in account for Tinubu, El Rufai did exactly the same thing. So, this move is not new. Okorocha employed more workers before exiting the seat. So, that's a norm here in Nigeria.
