Olaseni Lawal Foundation Takes ‘Light Up’ Project To Ogun Communities

In a bid to address the pressing issue of security and illuminate the lives of residents in communities facing electricity challenges, the Olaseni Lawal Foundation has distributed solar street lights to several communities in Abeokuta North Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The Founder of the Foundation, Olaseni Lawal while presenting the streets light on Wednesday in Abeokuta ,emphasized the foundation’s commitment to assist the less privileged and provide support to youths and society at large.

Recognizing the importance of addressing the lack of electricity in many communities, Olaseni highlighted the significant impact the solar street lights would have on enhancing security and improving the quality of life for residents.

“If we look at our society today we are suffering from the issue of electricity in the country . I believe the community we distributed this solar street lights to would benefit when it comes to security issues within the society.

“Some of these communities when there’s no electricity it is always blackout , for security reasons, this will serve as a very big purpose for the community it served.”

The communities in Oke- ona, , Gbagura, Oke-Ogun and Owu, were the beneficiaries of this initiative, which aims to contribute to the safety and well-being of residents.

While presenting the solar streets Light , All Progressive Chairman (APC) in Abeokuta North Local Government, Alhaja Faidat Sarumi Akintunde commended the foundation for its noble gesture.

Alhaja Faidat Sarumi Akintunde expressed gratitude to Olaseni Lawal and prayed for continued blessings on his endeavors.

She also acknowledged the positive impact the solar street lights would have on community safety.

Furthermore, Prince Hadi Sani, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Ogun on Inter-Ethnic Affairs, highlighted the importance of collaboration between government, foundations, and communities in addressing societal challenges.

He praised the Olaseni Lawal Foundation for its intervention and urged other foundations to follow suit, emphasizing the critical role of partnerships in achieving meaningful progress.

“We all know the situation of the country , intervention is quite necessary and it’s obvious government cannot do it alone, such partnership os necessary and important, it can never be overemphasized, we will use this avenue to call on so many foundation to partner with government, communities, agencies to take this as corporate social responsibility to support the people .

“The situation of the country it’s so critical it cannot be left alone to the government , moment we are having more agency coming on board to support, the easier for us to achieve better things in life and i think it’s a very welcome development , and I have assured the foundation and I will do all I can within my capacity to help and to foster the capacity .

The beneficiaries of the solar street lights expressed their appreciation to the Olaseni Lawal Foundation, underscoring the importance of such initiatives in improving community life.

They called on other foundations to emulate the foundation’s example and contribute to the betterment of society.

In addition to the solar street lights distribution, the Olaseni Lawal Foundation announced upcoming projects, including vocational training programs and scholarships/grants for secondary school students.
