How Come The IGALA Who Speak Yoruboid Claim Jukun by babasolution: 7:32pm On May 17 |
The IGALA, a group that speaks a clear undisputed yoruboid language, where there are clear Yoruboid phrases used. The IGALA are cut from connection with the nearest Yoruba area, the okun area by the river Niger. How come this group speak a clear Yoruba language do not claim any ancestry at all from IFE, yet the Yoruba say all yoruboid groups are from IFE. There is even no tale or legend of Yoruba migration to igalaland. Narratives of IGALA migration to Yorubaland are denied by the Yoruba. Even the Yoruba,eg the ooni of ife has never attributed igala to be from IFE, he hardly talks about any narrative of the igala Yoruba relationship. The igala group are very far from Yoruba land yet retain Yoruba facial marking styles, cultural similarities and language, likewise the olukumi and itsheriki. Yet the Yorubas do not claim the IGALA as being part of them. But the Yorubas are quick to appropriate yorubaness to groups that do not speak any form of Yoruba dialect or yoruboid language and do not have any yoruboid culture or facial marks like the Akoko-edo and ogori etc and Benin. Again why are the Yoruba silent on IGALALAND |

babasolution:Chill, you don't know Igala well Some part of Igala trace their origin to Anambra North. Ibaji local government especially Idoko side are connected to Anambra North. They speak and answer igbo names. Are those ones yoruboid too? I don't too know about other parts 2 Likes |

Bendeco2020: The thing is there is somewhat a strong connection of the IGALA with the Yoruba but it's totally ignore by Yoruba proponents, yet they are so concerned with tribes that have no Yoruba connection |

It is so funny and unfair to say Igala is a yoruboid language, what if it's the other way round. What if Yoruba is a Igaloid language,,,,make una think.... |
