igbobuigbo: I have just been in a meeting where it was disclosed that Tinubu is planning to storm Anambra with billions of Naira to campaign for Ngige to enable APC gain a foothold in the East by all means possible. What this means is that if Ngige wins, Tinubu becomes the godfather in the most economically-important Igbo state. Was this the early momo garage meeting of Igbo and Ogogoro |
Politics / Re: Ladipo Market Belongs To Mushin LGA - LGA Boss by 0mOnnakoda25: 10:07am On Aug 02, 2013 |
Mushin LG Boss Clears Air On Ownership Of Ladipo Market By Article On 21 Dec, 2012 At 02:11 PM | Categorized As Nigeria | With 0 Comments The Chairman of Mushin Local Government, Mr Babatunde Adepitan has answered the lingering question about the ownership of Aguiyi-Ironsi International Market at Ladipo Market in Mushin, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria. He spoke on the ground that some people are confused over the ownership of the market. Adepitan explained that the land originally belonged to Lagos State government and was meant for the establishment of Mushin General Hospital. He explained that the state government, observing that the environment as a market place, will not be conducive for the intended hospital, decided to change the original plan. He said that Lagos State ceded the land to Mushin LGA to be used as a market after payment of certain amount. Adepitan further explained that the council in private partnership arrangement, entered into an agreement and leased the land to a private company called Paramo Development Ventures Limited owned by the late Alhaji Hassan Olajoku. “The lease will last for 25 years and since then the council left the development and management of the market to Paramo,” he explained. P. M.NEWS gathered that the market came into existence in 2001 and was commissioned in 2005 by the former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Later, crisis erupted in the market and people, mostly traders became confused over the ownership of the market or who should take charge of the affairs in its management. However, Alhaji Olajoku was assassinated and his son, Ajibade Hassan Olajoku took over the management of the company. Olajoku confirmed the council’s position and explained that his late father, through Paramo, embarked on the process of developing the market and to build it to international standard. To achieve the dream, he said Paramo sub-leased shops to some traders in the already existing Ladipo Market on individual basis with conditions. He explained that the conditions include payment of specific amount for allocation of space to build shop on lease basis that will last between 10 and 12 years. Also the allottees should be paying storage fees to Paramo who will pay to Mushin Local Government. He regretted that since the market was commissioned, Paramo has not been able to collect the allocation money and the fees to pay to the council. Adepitan confirmed that Paramo has not been able to pay the council millions of naira accruing to it as part of the agreement because they have not been able to enter the market because of the lingering crisis. He hoped that the crisis will soon be over and the company will fulfil its obligations to the council. He, therefore, reiterated his earlier submission that the market belongs to Mushin LG who leased it Paramo pending the expiration of the lease agreement. Olajoku commended the Mushin LGA and Lagos State government for trying to sanitise the market, adding that more needs to be done to get rid of thugs in the market for lasting peace there. The Director of Operation, Paramo Development Ventures, Mr Nath Umezeokoli, while attesting to the position of Adepitan and Olajokun, explained that the agreement on the market was between Mushin LG and Paramo. –Cyriacus Izuekwe |

FYI the master plan of Lagos for that site was for a general hospital and we will fight for restoration of that. You jokers just come from Umuakpu, eat akpu with leaves, drink palm wine and start rewriting history. Now you are telling us you bought government land to sell scrap. We the sons of the soil know our history and will deal with you at the right time. You have absolutely no right to run a market on that site and your arrogance will only accelerate your eviction. What should be there is a hospital What can you do if Mushin decides no more trading on the site. Your story is like that of the proverbial guest invited to dine who then restrains his host from eating by holding his hands.YOur behaviour has made it clear we have to kick you out of the market. You have NO RIGHTS on that site.NONE !! 1 Like |

Politics / I Belong To Several Robbery Gangs - Suspect by 0mOnnakoda25: 9:23am On Aug 02, 2013 |
http://www.tribune.com.ng/news2013/index.php/en/component/k2/item/17744-i-belong-to-several-robbery-gangs-suspect.html I belong to several robbery gangs - Suspect Written by Oluwatoyin Malik Sunday, 28 July 2013 00:00 font size decrease font size increase font size Rate this item 1 2 3 4 5 (0 votes) раскрутка сайтов AddThis Social Bookmark Button One of the suspects, Uche IgweRESIDENTS of Akure town in Ondo State recently heaved a sigh of relief after the Anti-Robbery Squad of the Ondo State Police Command arrested several armed robbery suspects who had been snatching vehicles and dispossessing their victims of other valuables. Among the suspects currently undergoing interrogation at the SARS office are Tobechukwu Aguonu a.k.a. Alhaji Seriki Thunder and Uche Igwe . It was gathered that the two suspects, along with one Chinedu (surname unknown) invaded the premises of their latest victim’s house at about 11 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3 where they hid until about 3a.m. on July 4 when they struck. Police sources told Crime Reports that the gang gained entrance into their victim’s residence by using an iron cutter to cut the burglary proof. They also reportedly fired two rounds of ammunition to tell their victims that they meant business and needed their cooperation. Notwithstanding, they still injured the man of the house in the mouth with the iron cutter, after which they collected phones, cash and the key of his Nissan Pathfinder SUV along with the documents. The gang was said to have headed for Ihiala, in Imo State, with the vehicle. On getting to Onitsha, Chinedu , who was alleged to be the mastermind of the operation, got down from the vehicle, with the excuse that he needed to purchase some things. Unfortunately for them, they were stopped along Owerri Road in Anambra State for a checkup by federal highway patrol team. When they could not give a satisfactory explanation of how they came about the vehicle, the patrol team decided to conduct a search which turned out to be revealing. They were said to have discovered a driver’s licence and a call to the number on the licence led to a startling discovery. The speaker at the other end told the policemen that he was robbed of his vehicle in the early hours of same day. Aguonu and Igwe were promptly arrested and transferred to the Ondo State Police Command where the SARS operatives had been interrogating them on their criminal activities. Speaking with Crime Reports, one of the suspects, Igwe, who drove the vehicle, said that he was only hired as a driver and never knew that the vehicle was stolen. However, Seriki Thunder, said that Igwe was with them on the day their victim was attacked, though he confessed that they hired his services to drive a vehicle shortly before going for the operation. Seriki Thunder also revealed many criminal operations he had been involved in, saying that he used to join different gangs for robbery operations. He also said that some of his gang members were dead while others were in the prison or police cell. Twenty-seven-year-old Seriki Thunder was described as a commander of the robbery gang and alleged to be deadly. Police sources also informed Crime Reports that a man was robbed of his unregistered Toyota Camry (popularly called Muscle). On the fateful day, the man wanted to enter his premises and the gate was opened for him by a member of his household. The gang members reportedly closed in on him, drawing their guns. They collected the car but with painstaking investigations, the Ondo SARS operatives were said to have recovered it in Port Harcourt. Below are the excerpts of their interview with Crime Reports: Uche Igwe (22), from Ebonyi State “I have been living in Akure for two years. I am a commercial driver plying Ondo-Akure—Ore route. On that day, I was at Ondo garage when I saw two men who approached me and said they needed a driver to take a vehicle to Anambra State. I asked for the vehicle and they pointed at a Nissan Pathfinder SUV where it was parked nearby. I told them I was a driver and they sought verification by saying that I should show them my driver’s licence. I did and we negotiated my fee to N7,000. “On the way, we were stopped by federal highway patrol police. After showing them my licence, they asked for the particulars and I told them to ask the occupant. He showed the police the documents but while searching the interior of the car, the police found a driver’s licence and asked for the owner. The person in the vehicle told the police that it belonged to his brother. “The police called the number on the licence to confirm but was taken aback when the man at the other end told them that the vehicle was snatched from him that morning. That was how I was arrested with Alhaji Seriki while the other person, who disembarked at Onitsha, escaped.” Tobechukwu Aguonu a.k.a. Alhaji Seriki Thunder “I am from Imo State. I came to Ondo State in 2005. I was selling pants and singlets in Ondo before joining robbery gang. The gang usually met at old Garage. I have been to several robbery operations with the gang. I knew Sina through Alhaji Soko who has been killed during an exchange of gunfire with the police when he went for an operation. Alhaji Soko was actually from Ihiala Local Government in Imo State.” His gang exploits “I was one of the gang members that used to block the highway at Ilara-Mokin junction along Ilesa-Akure highway. Other gang members’ names are Isaac, Berry, Sola, Sunny etc. “I have operated along Igbara Oke road several times. Some of our gang members, Uche, Azuka and Osofia are currently in prison. The four locally-made guns we were using then had been collected by SARS operatives before Uche and others went to prison. The guns were given to Uche by his brother-in-law who was a hunter, and we cut it to size to serve our purpose. The in-law knew what Uche was using the guns for and he used to collect returns from us. “On the robbery which led to my arrest, it was Chinedu who directed me to the residence of our victim. Chinedu claimed to be a brother to the man. He told me that he needed a driver to convey his brother’s vehicle to Ihiala. We were three in number and we jumped into the compound at almost 12midnight. We carried out our operation at about 3a.m. I followed him because I intended going to the village and since he was travelling home, I felt that would save me some money. He told me that his brother did not want to go home, saying by the time he took his vehicle home, he would come and join us there. “We went to the robbery operation with Uche after telling him we needed a driver. Chinedu got down at Onitsha and we proceeded until we were arrested by federal highway patrol team.” Confirming the case, the Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Patrick Dukumor, said that the suspects would be charged to court after the completion of investigations. |

gogodaye: The brazen quest of Mr. Boms to take over the matter leaves much to be desired. In law he can only do so if Mr. Llyod was charged for offences under Rivers state laws. However Lloyd was charged under a federal law, he is estopped from taking the steps hens initiated except he has the consent of Mr. Adoki. His actions further reinforces the calls for the seperation of the Office of AG from that of Minister/Commissioner for Justice as the motives for his intervention discernibly are self~serving...What federal law is this please tell us. I don't think you know what you are talking about. Murder and related matters comes under the state jurisdiction.he is being charged with attempted murder. Is that a federal offence? |

celemel: @0monnakodaWell I believe I was the first person to say so on this thread so there is no argument about that.Just making a clarification. Though it is not impossible for him to be charged with some kind of treasonable conspiracy Nigeria being what it is. Also state or federal offence, even if the government does not prosecute victims can. This has been established in the Supreme Court ; Fawehinmi vs Akilu 1987. So Bipi can bring charges against him( I mean criminal as distinct from civil) charges |

celemel:Not so! not ALL variants. There are several variant that fall under the purview of the Federal Government. So many in fact excluding this one. But there are many many variants that are federal offences. E.g killing the President ,soldiers, police, killing in the course of treason or murder by Armed forces personnel. It is also possible for private citizens to prosecute if the state should fail to do so. |

Police cannot prosecute. That is the role of the State or Federal attorney general depending on the jurisdiction covering the alleged offence. In this case murder or attempted murder is within the ambit of the state just like in the Mustapha case and that was why the FG could not grant amnesty much as they would have liked to.It has already been established that the AG has the power/discretion NOT to prosecute which is likely to happen in this highly political case.Perhaps the police can find a "federal" offfence and get the Federal attorney general to prosecute. That will likely be seen as political and we shall see how successful that will be.Usually that would be things like treason, terrorism etc. The Police cannot force the hand of the AG as they are attempting here.I wonder whether it has ever happened before that the Police engage a private lawyer to prosecute without the authority of the DPP or AG. Their job is to arrest, investigate and hand the file over to the DPP |
Politics / Re: FG Will Retaliate Against UK Visa Bond by 0mOnnakoda25: 10:53am On Aug 01, 2013 |
Nigeria should not reataliate on British citizens.Since they say we are visiting their country too much we should help them with these two things; 1 million Naira levy on every Student gaining admission to a British University and we should add a top up to the bond being suggested by Britain of £4000 to be paid to the Nigerian government. That way we should weed out those who have no real mission and the Nigerian government makes money too.Our government official won't do this out of self interest but I reckon this will bring them to their senses quicker than any action on Britons.Government shoult also consider 250000 airport tax on economy flights to Britain and 500000 on business class. All these measures should help reduce the numbers as the Brits want 2 Likes |
