Google's Gtalk is facing some issues as users aren't able to send messages to their contacts. Those using the service at the moment, receive a message that their chats haven't been received. Tweets confirm that the issue is worldwide at the moment. Confused, users have taken to the popular microblog with messages, like - "#Gchat is down, #Twitter confirms it.", "Grr argh #gchat is broken," "So it seems #gchat is down across the world. Numerous tweets on it. Are you facing this problem?."

In its first message that the service posted, Google confirmed that they're currently investigating the issue and will provide more information shortly. In a more recent update (4:20pm), Google added, "We're aware of a problem with Google Talk affecting a majority of users. The affected users are able to access Google Talk, but are seeing error messages and/or other unexpected behavior. We will provide an update by 7/26/12 5:20 PM detailing when we expect to resolve the problem. Please note that this resolution time is an estimate and may change."

Google's Gtalk service is the most popular chat service available today, and a disruption such as this is bound to cause much inconvenience to its wide userbase, globally. The service can also be accessed via Gmail, one of the most popular e-mail services around today. Google has put up an official notice confirming the issue.

on my email it signs in, i can see my contact list, if i send a message, after a min it says . so and so didn't receive your message

on the stand out im, no contact list, its just blank.

i hope they fix it soon.

surely you haven't used gtalk. Its very light, and feature I like is that it detects clients presence on a local network and routes directly/intelligently without using the internet (caveat: you need the internet for initial log on). Thus, you can send large files with other clients on the same local network without it being routed through your internet link.

Its actually more popular than you can imagine. Home and abroad, I've seen it being used in professional circles. I for one use it everyday for that past 5years.

Gtalk is one of the most portable im software available. If u had a google account u might know this. Owning a big G account gives u to all there services. An db I mean everything.

However gtalk aka pidgin.. Is more popular among techies, android users and sucessful internet marketers.
