Rexious: do u really think that this issue of hauling insult on GEJ deserve a debate in this forum? There're thousand of things that d special adviser shld worry herself abt. Don't u think so?

Yes, I do. I want to know if you understand the duties of your LG boss and governor. Many people who insult GEJ exhibit stark ignorance of the various functions of govt.

So I'll ask again, can you articulate your grievances, while detailing the duties of your governor and LG boss? I'm simply trying to establish that you are following a fad like all kids do.

dedeike: Then for all of you who keep exposing your ignorance of GEJ's scorecard in one year, this will help you.

Finance
finance ministry is carrying out bio metric evaluation of federal civil servants  to reduce waste. The checks revealed the pension scam of over 120 billion. There is the new integrated online payment system which helps the minister monitor transfer of public funds. Our foreign reserves have risen again to 37 billion dollars. There's the proposed Soveriegn Wealth Fund to cater for excess oil sale proceeds.

In Energy, a lot of reforms. The president is keen on transparency and thus has set up probes into the sector viz KPMG AUDIT and AIG IMOUKHEDE. The president sought to close the window of corruption by removing subsidy but the cabal misled Labour into a protest. That notwithstanding, the reforms are still ongoing and the full deregulation of the downstream sector being vigorously pursued. Last week, the FG had concluded the PIB which remains a landmark legislation that will revolutionarize the petroleum  industry. Refineries are undergoing repairs and an American company, VULCAN is to build six more new refineries.

In roads, Zaria-Funtua-Gusau roads, Oshodi-Apapa with expansion and drainage works,  dedicated bridge frm liverpool roundabout to Tin can ports, trailer park, Dualisation  of Ibadan -Ilorin, ENUGU-Onitsha, completion of OWERRI -Onitsha,    9th mile, ongoing reconstruction of Benin-Ore-Sagamu highway measuring over 265 km, Kano-Maidugri Dualisation. Keffi -Akwanga-Lafia, award of Afikpo-Okigwe, Auchi-Okene being handled by Setraco. Loko-Eweta-Karishi bridge, Kolo-Nembe -Brass  to mention but a few.

In Transport, massive reforms at the ports. Sanitisation and reduction of operating agencies to 7. Introduction of 24 hrs ports operation. Ongoing Construction of light gauge train railways across t4 cardinal point of the federation

In  Aviation, massive reconstruction of major airports in the land, Enugu airport is undergoing total rehabilitation. The domestic wing of Abuja airport is also being reconstructed with expansion of roads and car parks. Same fr the international wing and the kano airports

In Education, establishment of 9 new federal universities in less than 1 year. Constructed 2 new campuses of the Nigerian law schools in Yenagoa and Yola respectively. Launched the Almajiri schools for education of itenerant Islamic pupils in the north wFhich Buhari and other northern leaders abandoned. Increased funding to almost 400 billion to education thereby setting an all time highest record. Reinvigorated the inspectorate oversight of schools leading to the revocation of some licenses from universities. Executed the landmark upgrade of university lecturers retirement age from 65 to 70.

In agriculture, for the first time in our history, we have a clearly defined agricultural policy which is targeted towards maximum utilisation of cassava for growth thru the launch of the cassava bread campaign. The policy is intended to reduce our reliance on imported wheat so as to encourage local production of cassava and it's conversion to flour for bakery. The FG has in less than one year eliminated the middlemen cartel that fed fat on fertiliser distribution at the expense of local farmers. Now through deregulation reforms, fertiliser is now accessible in the open market. he has also embarked on massive construction of silos and has increased import duties on the importation of rice in order to encourage local farmers. The efforts of the minister has been so appreciable that the world bank assisted with over 50 billion Naira for fertiliser redistribution scheme/ silos. The CBN has also set up a 500 billion loan scheme which is to assist farmers.

In power, the NIPP has been revived with the subsequent refurbishment of Afam, Alaoji, Calabar, GEREGU, Omotosho, papalanto power plants. This has led to the addition last December of 4,000 megawatts from barely 1700 to the national grid. To address the problem of distribution,  the 18 successor companies have been slated for privatization.  The media is already awash with news of the proposed privatization next week. The reforms include the review of tariffs in order to ensure a cost reflective tariff that will encourage private sector participation in the building of gas plants. Already, this has started yielding dividends as SPDC has commenced processes towards building a gas plant in IMO state.

Could this be another vision 2020?

babestella: Ms Pain may be right, at least from all standard, no president in this world have ever taken the citizens for a ride like our presidents and leaders do here thinking that we are all fools. anyway, if ms. pain wants constructive and positive responses from the masses through social media, then it is high time someone told GEJ Nigerians cannot be fooled all the time, we are wiser now and thanks to the internet, lots of Nigerians and people globally are empowered with information.

Has ms. pain taken some time to ask our senators why they earn more than the US president. Nigeria is a country where people wallow in abject poverty and our senators and even LG chairmen earn more than the US president.

On a final note, I wish we could swap leadership, let GEJ, FEC and our so called senators be be given a chance to run the government of US, lets see what remains of US.

that started with obasanjo adminstration and 1999 constitution which some people tried to fight then . anyway its not something we can insult GEJ on after all he did cut it down sometime ago but we can pressure for it to be cut down even more but if we must succeed we should be ready to support him because the house wont succumb without a big fight(they are already intimidating him with impeachment).
Re: Sarah Pane: GEJ Is The Most Insulted In The World - by TrueNaijaguy: 9:41pm On Jul 29, 2012
It's so unfortunate that some unruly people just wake up these days to rain unncessary abuses on our President. 'Retardeen',clueless etc are just few words they call our President. Ask them why the insults and name calling, they will say the government is doing nothing. But is it true that the govt is doing nothing? My answer is no. Nigerians should know that the decay in the system has matured to an extent that makes the reversal near impossible. For the first time a government has come out to take the bull by the horn and people are not appreciating the efforts.

GEJ said during his campaigns that his transformation agenda will contain harsh but necessary policies that will make Nigeria work. In Agrigulture, this government is starting from the seedlings been distributed to farmers, from the old seedlings to the hybrid seedlings that will have more yield. 18 large scale rice mills and 100 cassava flour mills have been made available in conjunction with Chinese government at a subsidised rate for the private sector to tap. The PIB is in the National assembly to help curb wastages and enhance production petroleum products in the country. Tarrif review in the power sector has brought in investors that have hitherto been reluctant in investing in Nigeria. Health and education sectors are also under immense transformation.

Rather than spend your time in raining abuses on our President, one should commend him where he is performing and citisize only when necessary. This country will be better only if we join hands together to make it work. Animosity and politicisation every situation will never bring food on our table. Let's be wise. #longlivenaija

GEJ, if by chance you stumble on this thread, please pick up your manifesto and confirm to us how many of the promises you made that have been kept. Do not be deceived, many things are not working in the country that is why people are talking. There is still time for you to win the people over.

Not only has GEJ cut down the expenses of the NASS, he has acted against their so called "constituency projects" that they pad the budget up with annually in a crime that is untracable stealing.
GEJ has been the only one bold enough to do it and for that, he is facing an impeachment threat from the reps.

bashr8, I t believe that people want to remain deliberately ignorant and follow their dangerous fad for the illbred. Like I said earlier, its a cultural thing.

People only act like the homes they come from.

Very, very true!

So, em, what do we say about a man that claimed just a few months ago that he had no shoes now choking on $30,000/day meals while telling us he doesn't give a damn as he increases the cost of gasoline on the very first day of the year? undecided

As long as our presidents continue to give Nigerians new year gift which comes with over 150% increase in hardship on Nigerians, the insults will not stop because they only think that Nigerians don't deserve to have a life, this is only natural for wicked and unreasonable presidents even around the world. we all saw what happened with the Arab spring, it did not start today, the people have endured enough and it was time for them to react seriously too.

Come January first, i am sure we will have another new year gift, unless we don't have a president.

@ bashr 8,

I have been trying my best to educate these uninformed minds but some of them are irrevocably ignorant. So the best way to deal with them is through the carrot and stick approach.
You give them facts and toungelash when necessary. That way you restore some sanity to their deluded heads.

We appreciate that GEJ's govt has serious work to do in transforming Nigeria but to say that nothing is happening will amount to turning truth on its head.
Besides this man is just one year in office as an elected president. Yet this people expect him to perform magic.

Within this one year, Jonathan has undertaken the construction of major roads which were considered a taboo by previous administration. Notable amongst them is the Benin-ORE-Sagamu road which has been a motorists nightmare for years. GEJ is doing it. In Lagos, APAPA-OSHODI was awarded by to construction giants Julius Berger. A dedicated bridge has been constructed linking Liverpool Roundabout into TIN CAN PORTS. All this in one year. How many did previous administrations do for them? How many?
In that same Lagos, GEJ is constructing a railway to link Kano and Lagos. The phase 2 of that project covering Ibadan was just awarded to Chinese construction giants CCCE C.
In that same Lagos, the president set up a task force to sanitize and reform the ports.

I challenge everybody on this forum to make enquiries from anybody that operates in Lagos ports. I challenge you all to come back and disprove my claims that the ports have been sanitized. The number of agencies that used to operate in the ports were over 16 making business very difficult. But today, the agencies have been reduced to 7 after the reforms. Plans are also in top gear for 24 hours operation at the ports. Will Jonathan kill himself for them?

This same GEJ Has established 9 new federal universities in one year. Increased funding to education to an all time high of 400 billion, a feat which formed a large chunk of ASSU's demand during the Obj days. In one year, he has established and launched the Almajiri school projects for Islamic pupils in the North. These northern leaders attacking him failed woefully to do this when they were in office.
Take time to review the ongoing power reforms. All these fools making noise are just clueless on what is happening in that sector.
Power generation dropped to an all time low of 1500 megawatts before GEJ came in. Today, owing to his revival of NIPP, he has refurbished Afam, Alaoji, Papalanto, GEREGU, and calabar power stations. Mambilla and Zungeru are nearing completion. As at December, Gej had raised power generation to 400o megawatts. But the challenge remains inadequacy of gas and distribution.
To this end, the Fg set out to privatise our distribution network. All the 11 disco's are already slated for privatization and interestingly, giant electricity companies like SIEMENS, GENERAL ELECTRIC and Brasilian ELECTROBUS have all executed bulk purchase trader agreements preparatory to privatision.
These idiots watch Tv everyday and never bother to ask what the striking workers and invasion of soldiers at PHCN Z headquarters is all about.
the crux of the matter is the ongoing privatization of PHCN and the fate of the civil servants

bashr8: if we keep going on like this we will never get a leader who will account to us , we need to know what exactly our personal or community grudges are then be sure whose responsibility it is.
.

Since our so-called leaders don't want to listen to citizens' concerns (Sarah Pain here calling genuine grieviances insults), they will be shocked one day when things suddenly spiral out of control. When citizens get a chance to vent their spleen. Libya and Syria will be a child's play.
All those money they loot will be to no avail. They will become fugitives.

then lets pressure him to reduce the cost of feeding after all he met it like not its not as if he put it himself, obasanjo and yaradua got the same amount, as for subsidy throw that away in the dust bin its political some sections where against it while others where in support . states like anambra that were building the first private refinery of course will support local production while some people did not see why a few people will be collecting billions in the name of importing fuel when we can channel the money to local production.

Nobody will shut down your computer, bro. But if you say things like, "I will kill GEJ," or "up boko haram," then the SSS has every right to deal with you quietly.

And please, I emphasise the word "quietly."
Because thats how such things are done. People would notice that you either no longer log on or have become very civilised and well mannered. Those guys know a trick or two about how to persuade people to act right. Its the way reeducation is done the World over, away from prying eyes, the press and social media.

Comment all you like, but do not threaten national security or demean the nation.
