Point noted Oga, but in some places women do this work even better than the men. Go to Emene Enugu or Abakaliki town and you will see that women outnumber men in every decking concrete works. They will term me as very unfair if I had refused women from ferring concrete upstairs yesterday.

Fhemmmy beat me to the observation of using women for hard labour as such, my question is , is there no concrete/cement delivery equipment to hire in nigeria?, it a vehicle that sucked mixture of cement/granite thru pipe to any height, within an hour the decking is done. Very common thing here in europe.

I pity those women but anyway they are Looking for their daily bread.

i dont know what kind of soill i am building on but it is definately not sandy and swampy, there is a little bit of slope on the ground hence the 5 and 7 coaches of block. it is a duplex. and this is around the qwarimpa extention.

here is a question for 4. i am confusee here . how many inches do you cast all your foundations? and and is it okay for a foundation to be cast both 4and 5 inches?

There are no such machine for hire in the east of Nigeria at least. What we have here are concrete mixers, but humans will still be needed to carry the concrete up the deck.

Don't deny the women their means of honest livelihood just because they are women. Would you rather they do some other demeaning work like prostitut........ To survive?

Preventing them will throw up another problem, gender discrimination.

Truly there are no such machine in most part of nigeria, but presently is available in Lagos. But the cost is higher than doing it in our own convetional way they sell per cubic meter and when u compare to DIY d difference is outrageous. I have contacted them to use them once, but i took to my heel. The truth is that time is saved and high concrete grade and quality is achived.
