for Muslims,Islam takes precedence to culture.what you need to understand is to stop mixing Islam with arabic culture.they are two separate things.

Muhammed's father's name was Abdullah, meaning servant of Allah because the name Allah didn't come about with the advent of Islam. People had been using it to refer to (the highest) God before the Qur'an was revealed.
