Have you ever paid a bribe? How much for, what for and who to?

Please don't name names, but do name states and departments... we have to talk about this!

Not sure whether this should be classified as a bribe, nonetheless, I paid N1000 to a policeman. The scenario:

I was on a pleasure ride on my motorcycle along Ahmadu Bello Way in Kaduna and when I slowed down for traffic in a roundabout, a young police officer essentially jumped on my machine and ordered me to ride him to the police station without even telling me my offence - imaging that! I parked the bike and told him that I need to see how much money I have in my pocket. When he climbed down and I noticed that he had no guns or other weapons on him, I gave him a dirty slap and asked him if he knew who I was.

While he was still in shock, I gave him N1000 naira and told him to careful who he harasses, then I rode off.
