HydroDive Nigeria Limited, a servicing company in the oil and gas industry in Nigeria contravenes labour laws by sacking 14 senior staff for being members on PENGASSAN (union for senior staff in the oil and gas industry in Nigeria). They are daring the Federal Govt and the labour union to do their worst.

The HydroDive management is made up of David Graham Ross, the MD/CEO who is an American and his hatchetman and DMD Lanre Okubajo a Nigerian. David Ross uses Lanre Okubajo against the Nigerians in the company. David Ross and Lanre Okubajo do not pay the staff of HydroDive decently so they can have a lot of profit to share at the end of every year. David Ross is a very arrogant man that believes that he has worked in Nigeria for a very long time, understands the country and its people, and believes that he can solve all problems by compromising people. Majority of the staff joined the union (PENGASSAN) because they felt they were being treated unfairly and the management chose only a few people as beneficiaries of the largesse of the company. The Management has told everyone that cares to listen to them that unionism is very bad, and most companies that have unions go under, so they dont want union in their company. They have taken this stance and maintained it even though most if not all their clients are unionised (Chevron, Mobil, Total, Agip, Shell etc)and are still in existence.

what is most upsetting is that David Ross is using a Nigerian Lanre Okubajo, who shamelessly, because of his personal benefits is betraying his fellow country men at the detriment of the welfare of the staff and their families. while HydroDive was going through with the sacking of the union members, PENGASSAN had at different times tried to dialogue with the management, but to no avail.



it is now clear that HydroDive is calling the bluff of PENGASSAN to do their worst.
i hearby call on the Honorable Minister of Labour to Intervene urgently and save his fellow Nigerians from David Ross, who feels that he can come to Nigeria and perpetrate modern day slavery that he dare not try in his country.

i feel very sorry for Lanre Okubajo. when David Ross goes back to America, he will remain here with us and pay for his sins against his fellow Nigerians.. Nemesis will make sure he pays.
